Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

As dusk settles over the meadows and the barn doors open to a scene of refined rusticity, cocktail attire at an elevated barn evening wedding is about blending contemporary elegance with bucolic charm. Attendees are invited to dress in a way that celebrates the sophistication of a special occasion, with a nod to the natural, pastoral beauty. Women's Cocktail- Sashay into the evening with a cocktail dress that captures the essence of rural elegance. Opt for luxe materials such as silk, satin, or lace, in styles that are both chic and fitting for the countryside setting. Neutral palettes with soft, earthy hues or subtle pastels complement the environment, while a touch of shimmer or metallics adds an upscale twist. Accessorize with understated class—pearl earrings, a delicate gold necklace, or a fine bracelet. Consider a structured clutch with minimalist design for a modern touch, and choose shoes that are both stylish and practical, like a sleek pair of ankle boots or stacked heels that can navigate a country landscape with ease. Men's Cocktail - The gentlemen can embrace an air of contemporary country refinement with a tailored suit in rich, darker shades like charcoal or deep brown that resonate with the evening atmosphere. A fine wool or tweed blazer can add texture and interest, paired with a neatly pressed shirt, perhaps with a micro-print to add visual intrigue. Footwear should be classic but sturdy—leather derby shoes or subtly detailed dress boots work well. Finish the look with accessories that complement the elevated barn aesthetic, such as a leather belt, a tasteful pocket square, or a tie with a hint of rustic pattern like paisley or tweed.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony will begin in the fresh air at Gedney Farms, where nature will serve as a stunning backdrop to our 'I dos.' The reception will follow on site, in the barn, as we dine and dance the night away. Don’t stress over the possibility of rain—our venue has us covered, quite literally! Should the skies open, we have a gorgeous indoor space reserved at the same location, ensuring that our celebration continues seamlessly. We're all set for a day of love, laughter, and happily ever after, no matter the weather! Your comfort is important to us, so we'll keep you informed and shift indoors if Mother Nature has other plans. Looking forward to sharing every moment with you—come rain or shine!

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After we say 'I do' and share our first kiss as a married couple, the celebration is just getting started! Join us for cocktail hour where you can mingle, sip on some handpicked spirits, and nibble on appetizers. Following that, we'll move into the reception hall for a night filled with delicious food, heartfelt toasts, and of course, dancing till our feet hurt! We can't wait to celebrate with all of you!

Question

Question

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT RSVP IN TIME?

Answer

If we do not get an RSVP back by the date in which we have provided, it will be marked as a "no". We will miss you celebrating with us, however,we have to provide a total guest count to the venue in the timely manner they have given to us and cannot accept late RSVPs due to this. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Can we take our own pictures + videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you leave the photography and videography to the professionals during the ceremony. This will help us ensure that all the important moments are captured beautifully and without obstruction. We’ve hired a fantastic photographer who will be covering the event. Question

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

While we can’t predict the weather, but we can tell you typical weather for our area during the time we are getting married. In the Berkshires, October is characterized by decreasing temperatures as the region transitions from fall into the early stages of winter. You can expect cooler weather, with average high temperatures typically ranging from the mid-50s to low 60s Fahrenheit. The low temperatures can dip into the 30s and 40s Fahrenheit, especially towards the end of the month. But thankfully we are getting married in the beginning of the month, but be prepared to have the highs or the lows. You'll also see fall foliage with leaves turning various shades of red, yellow, and orange. It's a popular time for leaf-peeping! It's good to prepare for the possibility of rain as well.

Question

Will there be any vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free or allergy special diet options?

Answer

We want to ensure that every guest has a delectable dining experience at our wedding! That's why we're happy to provide vegan, vegetarian, allergy friendly and gluten-free options. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please let us know when you RSVP so we can accommodate your needs. Our goal is for everyone to leave with full hearts and happy bellies!
