Our venue is not currently rescheduling weddings or offering refunds at this time. We are moving forward with our July 27th wedding date. Currently, the venue can accommodate about 50 guests. Unfortunately, we had to reduce our wedding to a more intimate occasion than originally planned. New invitations to our intimate ceremony have been sent in the mail. We understand that guests may not feel comfortable attending our wedding in July and we fully respect that decision. We ask that if you know you will not be attending, to please update your RSVP as soon as possible.
The guest count has been limited to meet the guidelines in place for event venues in North Carolina. The new guest count allows Twickenham House to implement social distancing. Masks for each guest will be provided, and sanitizer will be available. Twickenham House will be having the venue professionally sanitized prior to our event. We are asking guests who are planning to attend to limit their exposure to COVID-19, and practice social distancing in the two weeks leading up to the wedding. We also ask that you do not attend if you have any symptoms of COVID-19.
Yes! There will be a luxury bus picking up attendees at the Holiday Inn Express in West Jefferson, and shuttling to the venue. The shuttles will run during the entire rehearsal dinner, and entire wedding ceremony & reception! Check the “Schedule” page for pick up times.
No. There is not parking at the venue. But don’t worry, we have a shuttle service taking people from the local hotel up to the venue at the top of the mountain. We also wouldn’t want attendees navigating down the switchbacks at the end of the night. It’s a real mountain y’all!
We are getting married 4,000 feet high in the mountains! We wanted to create a wedding hashtag that relates to our event, and that is unique! Make sure to tag it on all of your photos on the big day! #GettingHighWithTheCraigs
The largest nearby airport is the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, NC. Smaller nearby airports include the Piedmont Triad International Airport (Greensboro, NC) and the Tri-Cities Airport (Blountville, TN). All three of these airports are approximately 1.5-2 hours from West Jefferson.
The attire is listed as “garden attire”. The ceremony will be outside. Think- outdoor summer wedding. Suits in lighter hues, khakis, sundresses, floral prints, and dressy casual attire is acceptable. The event is not black tie or formal.
Based on July weather averages for West Jefferson, the highs should be 70-80 degrees and the lows around 65 degrees.
