Often confused for twins, Nerina is Amalia's favorite older sister and an Oncology Physicians Assistant at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Born three years and one day apart, Amalia and Nerina are now best friends and love cooking, camping, and traveling together. They haven't been everywhere yet, but it's on the list.
Courtney Sump
Matron of Honor
Courtney and Amalia met as lab partners their freshman year of Biology at Wake Forest. A friendship quickly grew and they even got to be roommates for a year in Charlottesville before Courtney moved on to complete her residency and now fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Courtney is the smartest person and has the biggest heart.
Phoebe Lett
Officiant & Bridesmaid
Phoebe is Amalia's first day homie and best friend forever. Seated next to each other on the first day of first grade, the two developed a friendship built on unconditional love that will truly last forever. Phoebe is a champion for social justice and an inspirational podcast producer at the New York Times.
Will McDonald
Bridesman
Will is Amalia's favorite little brother and a software engineer at Syntiant Corp out in Irvine, California. Losing Will to the west coast was hard but the two always make time to spend a few weeks just hanging out together playing board games. Will is a trivia master and you can often find him chowing down on the best burger in town.
Sarah Kruyer

Sarah and Amalia lived across the hall from each other freshman year at Wake Forest and spent much of their college days studying together in the library drinking Big Gulp Diet Cokes. Sarah recently settled back in Winston Salem, NC where she is a Physician Assistant at Wake Forest Baptist Health. She is the ultimate camping buddy and always down to go for a quick run.
Molly Stefany

Molly and Amalia also lived across the hall from each other freshman year at Wake Forest. Seeing a theme here? Molly is currently an elementary school teacher in Alexandria VA but hopes to move back to Boston soon. She is a mama extraordinaire and a pink sparkles enthusiast. She is a ray of sunshine and always there to give the best hugs and support.
Kalpana Vallabhaneni

Kalpana was Amalia's "hip attachment" for the first two years of college before she transferred to UNC. But once a deacon, always a deacon. The two remained close despite the distance and spent their post-bac years traveling the world together. Kalpana lives in Nashville with her adorable growing family of boys. Kalps is hilarious without trying and you should never expect the duo to be on time.
Greg Prince

Greg is Nerina's friend from Vanderbilt that Amalia befriended after years of visiting Nashville and Greg's perfect attendance at the annual Christmas party. While Greg and Amalia almost exclusively communicate through SnapChat, Greg is one of Amalia's closest friends and cheerleader. Greg is the most even keeled dude you will ever meet and a gracious host to the McDonald sisters parasitic-like tendencies.
Niamh McCarthy

Niamh and Amalia met at Champion's Run Club in Charlottesville in early 2017 when Sundae and Niamh's cavapoo, Murphy, insisted on running next to each other for a 5k. We all (dogs included) became fast friends and spent much time adventuring in SNP and around the local vineyards. Niamh moved to Milan to complete her MS and then settled back in Washington D.C. where she now works for Climate Advisors to make the world a greener and better place. Niamh is the definition of selfless and loves to make silly puns in a traditional Irish sense of humor.
Tyler Madsen
Best Man
Rolf and Tyler met in high school at a homecoming party and have been friends ever since. From sky diving, to musical festival, to backpacking through Europe, Tyler and Rolf have done it all. Tyler is a caring and thoughtful friend who gets along with almost everyone and is down for almost anything. Tyler and his wife, Tori, live in Denver with their two cats and four chickens.
Sam Kenny

Sam and Rolf met in first grade on the school bus, making Sam Rolf’s first friend. Throughout the many years they have known each other they have done many things together, most of which were really bad ideas (I am sure Jodie Skyberg has stories). Sam is incredibly smart and resourceful so everyone make sure he doesn’t get bored at the wedding. Sam lives in Oakland with his girlfriend, Jess, and their dog.
Adam Wieckert

Adam and Rolf met in college at the University of St. Thomas where they were roommates for four consecutive years. During that time Adam and Rolf were inseparable, whether they were in class, at the Blue Door Pub, pulling all nighters studying or pulling all nighters playing video games. Adam is almost as competitive as Rolf but still knows how to have a good time and has the biggest heart of anyone you will ever meet. Adam and his wife, Steph, live in Nashville with their two cats.
Tony Troung
Groomsman
Tony and Rolf were in middle school band where they became great friends. In high school Tony and Rolf were also tennis double partners. While they did not win many matches, they definitely were having the most fun. Tony is an amazing friend, great coder (ask him about the app he made from scratch) and has been known to tear up the dance floor. If we are lucky he may even show us some of his glowsticking skills that he obsessively mastered in middle school. Tony lives in Minneapolis with his girlfriend Jess and his dog.
Jake Reardon

Jake and Rolf met in middle school band and instantly became friends! They spent high school playing video games and working together at their first job at Crystal Lake Golf course where they were dishwashers for weddings and other large events! Jake is an excellent musician and an even better friend! Jake currently live in Minneapolis with his puppy Pippin.
Ryan Webster

Ryan and Rolf also met in middle school band (noticing a trend?) where they both played trombone... poorly. Ryan is one of the most driven people that you will ever meet and when he puts his mind too something, that something is getting done. Ryan is also hilarious and is always planning some crazy antic. Be careful if you see Ryan and Sam together as that usually means something is about to explode. Ryan lives in Caen, France and is an accomplished runner, cross-country skier and computer scientist.
Olivia Skyberg

Olivia is one Rolf's two amazing sisters. Although Rolf is older, Olivia is and always has been much more responsible than Rolf is or will ever be. Olivia is one of the most caring and thoughtful people in Rolf's life, often reminding Rolf of family member birthdays and other important events. Olivia teaches kids about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and played a huge part in developing and running UVA Brain Camp with Rolf and Amalia. Olivia loves tie-dye, corn-on-the-cob, giraffes and lives in Prior Lake, MN with her boyfriend Blong.
Sophia Skyberg

Sophia and Rolf met when Sophia was born because Sophia is Rolf's youngest sister. Although Sophia doesn't remember that day, Rolf does very well. Sophia is by far the most easy going of the Skyberg siblings and has one of the most infectious laughs you will ever hear. Sophia is an advanced care guide and lives in Apple Valley, MN with her boyfriend, Cole and their crazy (but wonderful) dog.
Lindsay Collins

Lindsay and Rolf met in graduate school at UVA where they both studied the chemosenses (taste and smell). Lindsay, Rolf and eventually Tyler S. lived together for a majority of their time in graduate school. During graduate school these three were inseparable and were well known for throwing the best graduate student parties. Lindsay is a loyal friend with a big heart and a solid mastery of the "birkstocks and socks" style. No wonder she moved to Eugene, OR where she currently lives with her fiancee Karl and their cat.
Tyler Santander

Tyler and Rolf also met in graduate school at UVA where they both were studying to become neuroscientists. They quickly bonded over their love of science, football, video games, beer and food. Together they were well known for cooking up some seriously good barbecue and brewing some seriously mediocre beer. Tyler is super smart and has a dry witty sense of humor that makes him one of the best people to share a beer with. Tyler is a California native, a Burning Man regular, a self-described burrito enthusiast and most importantly an incredible friend. Tyler currently lives in Santa Barabara, CA where he studies the human brain!
