Come celebrate with us in the mountains

On a warm, random Thursday summer night in 2019, Alyssa and a bunch of her college friends walked into Shingletown, a country bar in Ballard, for some dancing. Shortly after they arrived, Ron and five friends visiting from out of town for a wedding walked in ready for some fun. It was clear they wanted to dance the two-step being that they were Utah country boys (except Ron, who hates country bars). As Ron tells it, he asked Alyssa and her friends if they were from around here and live here, but only Alyssa answered yes. This piqued his interest as Ron never passes up a chance to make a new friend (those of you who know him well know how social he is), and they struck up a lively conversation. An hour or two later, Alyssa felt uncertain about him, but also curious. From her perspective, here's a guy who she is meeting in a bar and they find they have a lot in common... and he's handsome. She thought to herself in that moment, "Never have I ever met a guy in a bar and had it go anywhere. This will probably be the same, but whatever, I'll keep chatting with him!" In the meantime Ron was thinking, "Oh my... she skis, she's from Washington, and she is gorgeous... I want to get to know her more!" Numbers were exchanged and the two didn't talk for the next few days until Alyssa's friends encouraged her to reach out, something she normally wouldn't do. Eventually, they met up a week later and ended up talking for hours on end, closing down the restaurant and planning their next date... from there, the rest is history!
