Our story began back in 2012 when Alyssa took a chance and sent Rico a Facebook message because she thought he was cute and wanted to hang out during senior year of high school. That message led to a sweet summer fling before life pulled them in different directions. Alyssa went off to UW–Whitewater to begin her college journey (and her start in pageants), while Rico proudly served seven years in the Marine Corps. Years passed, but fate wasn’t finished with them. During COVID, they reconnected online, picking up conversation as if no time had passed. When Rico returned home in 2021 after completing his military service, it didn’t take long for the two to realize that this time, it was meant to last. Shortly after he came home, Alyssa and Rico began dating and the rest is history.
