Bridesmaid
It’s no secret that my sister, Kasina, and I are pretty different. Ever since I can remember (so basically yesterday, JK) we have had completely different styles, thoughts, opinions, and perceptions. However we have always been able to find a common ground on something along the way. We have definitely had our share of ups and downs; We’re still working through the rockiest point of our relationship now. She is a full time professor in Austin, completing her dissertation for her PhD, married, and has a cat. That is the kind of person she is; although she has all this going on and all these responsibilities, she is still willing to be a bridesmaid and help me with whatever I need, whenever I need it! “A perfect sister I am not, but Thankful for the one I’ve got”.
Personal Attendant/ Bridesmaid
Veronica and I also met while working at Methodist. She began as a PRN shortly after I began working full time. She had two toddlers when she started and I was pregnant with Noah. She is so nurturing and was always there to help me with advice and guidance. She helped me plan my baby shower and I helped plan hers when she found out she was pregnant with her third little girl. She will be with me throughout all the planning, celebrating, ceremony, reception, and throughout all the working to pay off all the debt for my wedding!
Bridesmaid
Best of Friends since High School, and longest friendship I’ve had with anyone. Brena and I have been friends since we met at Liberty H.S. in Colorado Springs in our young adolescence and have been together through thick and thin. I was blessed to have been able to walk down the aisle with her in her wedding this year and now it’s only right she is by my side in mine!
Bridesmaid
Peanut Butter to my Jelly (she wrote me a letter many years ago where she stated I was the Peanut Butter to her Jelly) Dora and I have also been friends since High school. When I moved to San Antonio from Colorado, Dora Had also recently moved to Texas from California. We met in Pre-Calculus and instantly clicked. We have managed to stay close and still visit each other to this day! Now, my Noah is friends with her babies, Damien and Chloe.
Bridesmaid
Best Friends since Undergrad! We both had to take a certain amount of mandatory foreign language credits. She was fluent in Spanish and signed up for beginners Spanish thinking it would be easy to pass. I signed up for beginners Spanish because even though I’ve taken multiple years of Spanish I still can’t speak the language. We sat at the same table and I used her fluency of the language and she used my knowledge of the grammar and conjugations from past classes. We became instant BFFs and have been going strong since!
Bridesmaid
When I started at Methodist it was definitely a transition. I was still working full time at BCADC, and I began PRN at Methodist so I had a full schedule. The ladies at Methodist were all very welcoming and nice but I didn’t quite pay full attention to the environment as I was focusing on the work and had my head in my schedule and what needed to be done. When I was offered a full time position at Methodist, I put my notice in at BCADC and 1 week later I found out I was pregnant. I was so stressed because Noe and I weren’t married, I just switched jobs, I didn’t know many of these ladies I was working with, etc. Raelanda had just had a baby and was so calming! She has been with me since I found out I was pregnant and was excited from day 1! My Noah and her Reagan are friends as well!
Mother of the Bride
My best friend in the whole world! The person I rely on most, the opinion I value most, and the relationship I cherish most. She is the rock of the family.
Best Man
Brother of the Bride, and pretty much a brother of the groom. Nick is the best brother I could ever ask for and so easy to get along with. Nick has been a saving grace for the family and will be there by our side on our special day.
Bride
Born to Theresa and Perry, a young couple who (both raised in the small town of Jamestown, North Dakota) met and fell in love in high school and got married when Theresa finished college and Perry finished basic training. They had just ventured out on their own courtesy of the military stationing in North Carolina. They already had 1 daughter, when along came Alyssa. Although somewhat of a surprise, life suddenly felt complete (until they later had a son who ultimately completed the family). After also graduating from Southwest high school, she pursued her studies and received both her undergrad and her graduate degrees in Social Work from Our Lady of The Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Her hobbies include shopping, spending time with friends, family and Noah, Ralphie, and Noe.
Groom
Where do I start? Born and raised in Mexico, he moved to the United States as a young teen. He graduated from Southwest High School and immediately joined the army. After 4 years he decided to become a Bexar County Deputy Sheriff and has been with them since. He is more of a “traditional” type man in that he does not know how to cook anything if it doesn’t go on a grill. His hobbies include automotive mechanics, hunting, range-shooting, and drinking beer while online shopping at Snap-On and Amazon :/
Ring Bearer
The absolute cutest little munchkin. I might be biased, as he is also my son :)
Flower Girl
Chloe is the daughter of Dora, my Best Friend since high school and now bridesmaid! Chloe and Noah met last year during our trip to Disneyland in California for Noah’s first birthday. They immediately got along great and instantly became friends. It is a blessing to be able to have one of my closest friends and her daughter in my wedding!
