The Mass will be around an hour and a half.
Please RSVP by Sunday, April 14, 2024. You can RSVP by clicking on the "RSVP" tab above. Then, type in your first and last name.
The wedding will begin at 3:00pm, so please plan to arrive by 2:30 pm. Plan to arrive 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony to account for parking and walking, since the church is downtown. If you enter the church early, please spend time in silent prayer.
In honor of Our Lord, guests are kindly requested to wear Church-appropriate attire. -Gentlemen: Sunday attire -Ladies: Modest Sunday attire (dress or skirt and blouse preferred) It is common and highly encouraged for women to cover their head during Mass. If you would like to join in this tradition, you may wear a scarf, hat, or chapel veil (any color, including white). Please contact Alyssa if you have any questions or need assistance with this. Not permitted: t-shirt, shorts, beach attire, flip-flops, or anything immodest.
Yes, of course! Children are a blessing from the Lord. We want our wedding will be family-oriented, as a new family will be created. Wedding ceremony: The Basilica doesn't have a separate crying room. But as they say, "If you don't hear crying, the church is dying." Crying and other noises are how children worship, so we highly encourage you to bring your children! Do keep your children with you at all times. Reception: The reception will have light alcohol and be kept appropriate for little ones. We will have many games and activities for children at the reception. The reception includes two big dressing rooms: one for the men and one for the women. Parents of young ones may use these dressing rooms to take care of their littles ones, if needed.
Any sound from a phone during the ceremony is disruptive and easily preventable. Therefore, adults may bring their phones inside the church, but they must be turned off. The use of phones during the ceremony, including photography and videography, is strictly prohibited; however, since we are not hiring a videographer for the reception, we would love it if you could get videos and send them to us! The use of phones and electronic tablets by children is strictly prohibited during the wedding ceremony and not necessary during the reception, as we will provide many activities for the children. What about social media posts? If you want to post pictures of yourself with Nick and Alyssa, please wait until Nick and Alyssa post pictures on their social media to post pictures of them on yours. If you just want to post pictures of yourself and friends, then you may post them when you wish.
If you are not Catholic or are Catholic but not in a state of grace, please stay seated. You may pray or sing during this time.
Wedding ceremony: The Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel is in downtown Pensacola. The Saturday Palafox Market will be over by the time everyone arrives, so parking should be easier to find along the sides of Palafox St. Please be aware of where you park downtown, as payment may be required. There are also a couple of parking garages a few blocks away from the church. Please allow 30 minutes for parking and walking to the church. Reception: The reception is in a barn in rural Milton, FL with plenty of gravel and grass parking in front. We highly encourage you to carpool with someone to both locations. Please contact Alyssa if you would like to carpool with someone.
30 minutes/29 miles
Cocktails and champagne will be provided. If you would like to drink any other alcohol, you may bring it. Please drink responsibly because this is a family friendly event. Have a designated driver assigned. If you need one, please inform Nick or Alyssa at the reception.
Any updated information and/or changes will be posted on this website. If necessary, an email or text will be sent.
This website has links to contribute to Nick and Alyssa’s honeymoon. As they are a young couple, this is extremely appreciated; however, a gift table will be available at the reception. There will be a dance with the bride for cash donations at the reception. If you would like to participate in this fun tradition, bring some cash with you.
