Our Love Story

From Alyssa's perspective: We met at Pensacola Catholic High School, where we attended. Nick was a junior and I was a freshman. We were introduced to each other by Nick's then-girlfriend, who was in my class. I remember this exact moment and location, but Nick doesn't. We were both dating different people at the time. Over the next few months, we helped each other overcome our breakups. From there, we became good friends. Nick graduated high school in 2017, so we didn't talk for a year. In early 2018, back when I used to ride horses, Nick commented on my Instagram story, which was a video of me with a pony. Nick called me a "real cowgirl," haha! We began talking again. Nick asked me to help him write his English papers for class. I had to help him a lot with it because he's a poor writer, which is why he isn't writing this. So, we ended up spending a lot of time together over text and FaceTime. Our first date was spent eating Whataburger and seeing Marvel's "Black Panther" at the movie theater. From here, Nick attended my high school graduation in May 2019. He helped me drive to two college tours. He helped me drive to Oklahoma for horseshoeing school. That three months of summer 2020 was the longest we had ever gone without seeing each other. It sucked big time. Three years later, we got engaged. We graduated college and became blessed with jobs that we enjoy. Now we're here: about to get married! Thank you for reading our love story! Please keep us in your prayers as we now aim to get each other to Heaven! Pax et Bonum, Nick and Alyssa

About Our Wedding

We began dating on March 25, 2018. We got engaged exactly five years later on March 25, 2023. We chose May 25, 2024 as our wedding date. We wanted "25" as the date of the month for 2 reasons: -1. Our dating and engagement anniversary dates share "25" as the date of the month. -2. Nick's parents' wedding anniversary is 12/22 and my parents' wedding anniversary is 07/28. 25 is in the middle of 22 and 28, so this would also signify two families coming together to create a new family. We chose May because that was the next month about a year away that has the 25th on a Saturday. May is also a beautiful month to have a wedding. You may have heard about Catholic couples choosing a saint to be the patron saint of their wedding day/marriage. We chose Saints Louis and Zélie Martin, parents of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. Saints Louis and Zélie Martin are the patron saints of marriage and parenting. They are the model for how to live an ordinary life in a saintly way. They succeeded in the ultimate goal of marriage, which is to get each other to Heaven. Nick and I hope to accomplish this goal with their help and intercession. We also feel close to their daughter, St. Thérèse of Lisieux the Little Flower, because we used to attend the same parish, Little Flower Catholic Church. This is actually where I saw Nick for the first time - at Little Flower during Vacation Bible School one summer. To show our love for these saints, we plan to have a picture of Sts. Louis and Zélie Martin on our table at the reception :)
