1. When should I RSVP by?
Answer
Please let us know as soon as you can if you plan to join us! This will help ensure you have enough time to book your accommodations and travel. To receive the group rate, rooms must be booked by October 10, 2026 using our wedding code. 🌴✈️

2. Do I need a passport?
Answer
Yes. All guests traveling to the Dominican Republic will need a valid passport. We recommend ensuring your passport is valid well before travel.

3. I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?
Answer
Please let us know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions when you RSVP so the catering team can accommodate you. The resort offers vegetarian, plant-based, and gluten-free options for every meal. 🍽️🌴 We recommend downloading The Excellence Collection app before your trip to check out menus and plan your favorites in advance.

4. Is the resort all-inclusive?
Answer
Yes. Your stay includes all meals, drinks, mini bar, and many activities at the resort. Some services like spa treatments, premium excursions, and certain specialty experiences may have an additional cost. The resort also includes an intimate teppanyaki dining experience at Spice, a restaurant. This experience requires reservations through the concierge at Guest Experiences or your private concierge when booking Club Excellence. We highly recommend checking it out. We loved the food, and the chef had us laughing the whole time!

5. Are kids welcome at the resort?

The resort, Excellence Punta Cana, is adults-only, so guests must be 18 years or older to stay at the property. We love your little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration. Thank you for understanding 🌴💛

6. What is the weather like?
Answer
April in Punta Cana is usually warm and sunny, with daytime temperatures around 80–85°F. Evenings are slightly cooler, so a light sweater or wrap is handy. Don’t forget sunscreen!

7. When should I arrive at the hotel?
Answer
We recommend arriving at least one day before the wedding so you have time to settle in, relax, and enjoy the resort before the festivities begin. Many guests will be arriving throughout the week, so feel free to come whenever works best for your schedule! Our wedding week will start Wednesday, April 7, 2027 and end Wednesday, April 14, 2027. We will be there the whole time! We hope you’ll plan to stay with us for as much of the week as you can, so we can spend plenty of time together enjoying the resort, the beach, and all the wedding celebrations 💛🌴

8. My flight arrives in the morning, but check-in isn't until 3pm. What do I do?
Answer
No worries. You can still check in early at Excellence Punta Cana and leave your luggage with the front desk. The staff will securely store your bags and bring them to your room once it’s ready. In the meantime, the resort encourages you to start enjoying your vacation right away - feel free to grab a drink, relax by the pool or beach, or check out the restaurants while you wait. We personally love taking a nap in one of the cabanas 😴 💡Pro tip: Pack your personal bag with sunscreen, swimsuit, and anything else you might want for the afternoon so you can jump right into vacation mode. Learn from our mistake and don’t forget the sunscreen so you can avoid a first-day sunburn🧴🌊

9. What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Our ceremony will begin at 5:00 PM AST (UTC-4). We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes early so you have time to find a seat and settle in before things begin. If you are arriving at the resort the same day, please note that check-in is typically between 2–3 PM, so rooms may not be available until then. Be sure to plan your travel with enough time to get ready.

10. What should I wear to the wedding?

Our wedding will be beach formal, so think light, breathable fabrics that are comfortable in warm weather. 🌴☀️ Men: Linen or cotton suits in light colors like tan, khaki, or light blue are perfect. A button-down shirt in white or pastels works, and dress shoes or loafers complete the look. Ties are optional but add a nice touch for photos. Women: Flowing sundresses, cocktail dresses, or other dressy summer attire work best. For footwear, block heels, wedges, or dressy flat sandals are best for navigating sand - stilettos are tricky on the beach. Please bring comfortable shoes for dancing. 💡 Tip: Light, airy fabrics and soft, tropical colors will keep you cool and picture-perfect for our beach celebration.

What should I pack?
Answer
The hotel provides beach towels, bathing towels, clothing steamer, hair dryer, some toiletries, hangers, and umbrella. You will NOT need a wall adapter for any chargers. Otherwise here are some extra things you will need: - Plenty of sunscreen - A beach bag - Swimsuits - Light sweater - Sunglasses and a hat - Sandals and closed toed shoes When in doubt - pack for sun, sand, and a good time 🌴

11. Should I bring cash?
Answer
Yes. While most things at the resort are included in your stay, it’s helpful to bring some cash for tipping staff. Small bills (USD) are perfect for housekeeping, bartenders, and concierge staff. No need to exchange money. Plan ahead as ATM exchange fees are quite high.

12. Are there dress codes for restaurants?

Restaurants at the resort have dress codes. We recommend downloading the Excellence Collection app for more information. Generally: Casual Daytime: Shorts, sleeveless t-shirts, sarongs, sundresses, flip-flops are good Evening: For women, long or capri pants, skirt, dress, or blouse. For men, long pants, dress shorts, collared shirts, or t-shirts. Casual or elegant shoes are allowed.

13. Can I stay somewhere else?
Answer
While you are welcome to stay wherever you’d like, we highly recommend staying at the resort so everyone can easily attend the wedding events and spend time together throughout the weekend. Guests not staying at the resort can attend the wedding with a 5-hour event pass that costs $100 USD per person. Event passes are guaranteed to be purchased only for the wedding event days. An event pass gives guests access to the event area an hour before the wedding and will include up to 5 hours of private events, or until 11:00 pm. Photo identification will be required for each guest.

14. Is there a limit on the number of guests?

We are so excited to celebrate our wedding with our closest family and friends! Our venue has a capacity of 60 guests, and we’ve invited a slightly larger group of 85 as we finalize our guest list. While we don’t anticipate any issues, we kindly encourage guests to RSVP and book their rooms early, as attendance will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis. We truly appreciate your understanding and flexibility, and we will do our very best to find thoughtful alternatives if needed. We can’t wait to celebrate this special day with you!

15. What are the bride and groom's plan?

Our stay at the resort will be from April 7–14, 2027, and we’re so excited to turn the whole week into a celebration! Outside of the wedding festivities, you’ll likely find us soaking up the sun by the pool with a cocktail in hand. If you spot us, please come say hi - we can’t wait to celebrate with everyone! 🌴🍹

No - our wedding will be at Excellence Punta Cana, not Excellence El Carmen. While both are beautiful Excellence resorts in Punta Cana, they are different properties. To make booking easy and avoid any confusion, please use the links provided in the Travel section of our website.🌴💛
