We met at the Giant Robot GR2 Gallery while we were both on vacation in Los Angeles, CA and talked for ages before we took a hint from the owner to buy something or get out! Well we moved our conversation to a ramen spot across the street and talked for hours, and eventually we ended up spending the remainder of our respective vacations together. We decided to keep in touch despite the miles and miles between us. The rest as they say, is history... That leads us to the next part...
It's the number one question you get asked when you announce your engagement, "How did he propose?!" I think Joey had this in mind when planning the proposal, which took place in Disneyland in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle during our annual trip to California to celebrate our 2nd dating anniversary. Joey and I spent that morning at the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge park and once we arrived back at Main Street around sunset Joey wanted to make a beeline for the castle and get our picture taken, which I found odd because Joey is NEVER this excited about posing for photos that aren't Star Wars or soccer related... Once our turn came, he was discussing poses with our photographer (so I thought - he was actually telling him his plan), so you can imagine my surprise when he was on one knee after the second photo! I thought he dropped something until I saw THE RING and then I blacked out a little bit. After a few seconds of him asking the question, me interrupting with "YES!!", fumbling with the ring (he tried putting it on the wrong hand at least twice) and sealing it with a BIG kiss WE WERE ENGAGED! The crowd clapped and cheered for us, and it was the closest I'll ever come to feeling like a real-life Disney Princess.
