Nestled in the foothills of Mt. Diablo, The Vineyards of Shadowbrook Winery, amazingly, consist of eight acres with 14 different varietals. This provides a full stable of wines and allows the winemakers to blend specific characteristics of grapes to create wines with a complex taste and feel.
A world-renowned 3.5-acre garden, housing a collection of unique succulents, cacti and drought-tolerant plants from around the world. The Garden’s founder, Ruth Bancroft, lived to be 109 and was a pioneer in drought-tolerant gardening. Open to the public year-round, the Garden showcases fabulous blooms during every season. The retail nursery carries many varieties of Agaves, Aloes, Sedums, Aeoniums, Echeverias, Cacti, and a selections of Proteaceae. Visitors may take a self-guided tour or on weekends, docent led tours are offered.
The 18-hole facility offers a range of amenities, including a well-stocked pro shop, a spacious driving range with 60 stalls, grass tees, and shaded options, a golfer's grille for refreshments, and 5 practice putting greens for honing putting skills. With a range of 7100 yards from the championship tees to 5699 yards from the forward tees, the course provides an engaging and pleasurable golfing experience. Boundary Oak Golf Course hosts 60,000 to 80,000 rounds per year making it a popular choice among golfers in the Northern California area.

In the mid-1960s, the Fillmore Auditorium became the focal point for psychedelic music and the counterculture in general, with acts such as the Grateful Dead, the Steve Miller Band, Jefferson Airplane, the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, the Byrds, Janis Joplin, Santana, Rolling Stones, Queen, Black Sabbath, Kiss, ELO & Fleetwood Mac. The Grateful Dead played a total of 51 concerts at the venue from 1965 through 1969. Besides rock, Bill Graham also featured non-rock acts such as Lenny Bruce, Miles Davis, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Charles Lloyd, Aretha Franklin, and Otis Redding. The hundreds of posters upstairs of past performances is always awe inspiring to see.
