How should I RSVP?

Answer

The "RSVP" tab is the easiest way to let us know if you are coming. The system will allow you to respond for your entire group.

Have you reserved blocks of rooms in a hotel?

Answer

We have currently reserved a block of hotel rooms at various price points. Out-of-town guests will need to arrange their own accommodations. NOTE: the event start before your typical hotel check-in time. So if you are getting a room for that day, ask the hotel if they can provide an early check-in time . Check the information on the "Lodging" and "Things to do" tab for more area information.

What time should we arrive?

Answer

The Ceremony starts at 3:30 pm promptly and it is a short walk from the parking lot. Please arrive at least 15 min beforehand (2:30-3:15pm) so you can be seated before the ceremony starts. You can also wander the beautiful gardens if you come early.

Question

What's the best way to get to and from the wedding?

Answer

Driving yourself is the easiest way. For locals, Walnut Creek BART station is the closest to the venue. Then a short Uber/Lyft ride to the venue (2.2 mi). If you plan to drink alcohol it is recommended you take Uber/Lyft or designate a driver.

Is parking available and wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes. There is a self-parking lot at the Heather Farms’ Garden venue. There is no parking fee. The facility has ADA compliant ramps and restrooms. There are paved concrete sidewalks throughout the facilities, so those with mobility concerns can still enjoy the gardens.

How will I know where to go?

Answer

There will be signage directing you to the ceremony and reception area. From the front of the building look for the "Ceremony this way" sign that points down the ramp. Except for the first couple of reserved rows, it is open seating as we consider everyone "our family" .

What's the weather in the area?

Answer

Current forecast for this weekend in Walnut Creek is 80-88 degrees for daytime high, UV index 10 (very high) and lows of 56 degrees in the evening. Bring some warmer layers as it may get chilly at night. Check the weather and wear appropriate attire and sunblock There will be complimentary water available at ceremony site.

What should I wear?

Answer

Semi-formal attire and comfortable shoes to dance the night away. Formal wear is not necessary but if you need an excuse to get dressed to the nines, let us be the reason. There are grassy and garden areas which could be harder for those in high heels. Bring some comfy shoes to dance the night away with us.

Is the wedding indoor or outdoor?

Answer

Both. The ceremony is by the gazebo in the picturesque garden. The cocktail hour on the patio area. We head inside the air conditioned reception hall for dinner and wedding fun.

Can I take photos at your wedding?

Answer

Yes! We would love for you to take pictures and share them with us (via QR upload provide). However, please refrain from using your phones during the actual ceremony and remember to put it on silent mode during the ceremony. We have hired a professional photographer to take photos of the ceremony so please be mindful of their line of site so he can get that memorable shot.

Can I wander around the Gardens?

Answer

Absolutely, the Gardens are a sanctuary in the heart of Walnut Creek. With over 6.5 acres of lush gardens, a variety of natural landscapes and a renowned Rose Garden to explore. Maps of the garden areas are available for those interested in a self-guided tour.

Is there a time gap between your ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes. There is about an hour between the ceremony and reception (for wedding photos). There will be a Cocktail Hour between 4:00-5:00 pm on the patio area.

How will food and drinks be served?

Answer

Light bites will be provided during the cocktail hour (4:00-5:oo pm) on the patio. And YES we have an open bar all evening ! Dinner service starts at 5:30 pm and will be a sit-down buffet style affair with servers . Check the seating chart for your table assignment.

Will I need to bring cash for the bar?

Answer

No..There is an open bar for our guests, consisting of beer,hard cider, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and several specialty cocktails. The hardworking bartenders do appreciate a cash tip.

Where can I smoke?

Answer

Heather Farm Gardens is a 100% NON-SMOKING property, including the outdoor garden space. Smoking is ONLY allowed on the sidewalk of Marchbank Dr., just outside the parking area. Please dispose of any butts responsibly.
