Alyssa's dad, Steve, was there when we chose our venue in December 2024, and though he’s no longer here, he’ll always be with us in our hearts. We're saving him a seat on our special day.
Jacob was raised by his single mom, with his entire family playing a huge role in shaping the man he is today. His mom, grandma, and aunt have always been there when he needed someone to talk to. His sisters helped him grow mentally, while also sharing plenty of laughs. His grandpa and uncle stepped in as father figures, teaching him about baseball, football, and golf. Jacob was a dual-sport athlete growing up, until 7th grade when he decided to focus solely on baseball. He made the bold decision to break away from the family tradition of attending Norco High School and enrolled at Roosevelt High School instead. There, he graduated and played four years of high school baseball before heading to Dixie State in St. George, Utah. While at Dixie, Jacob attempted to walk on to the baseball team but didn’t make the cut. For the first time in his life, he was “just a student.” Missing home, he received a call from his best friend, who told him La Sierra University was looking for pitchers. That led Jacob to move back home and join the team, where he went on to play all four years. Jacob majored in Exercise Science and had classes with Alyssa every year. In fact, they shared a class together each quarter. By senior year, Jacob gave Alyssa a hard time whenever she got anxious about not being in the same class. They began joking with each other, and from that, love began to grow naturally. Eventually, Jacob worked up the courage to ask her out. They originally planned to eat at Wang Cho in Riverside but ended up changing course to a lookout with Chick-fil-A. From there, the rest is history. Since that day, Alyssa and Jacob have only grown closer. They’ve also made their relationship with God a priority. They thank Him for all He’s done and for bringing them together. He will continue to be at the center of their relationship for years to come. Jacob looks forward to December 20, 2025, when he’ll get to marry the love of his life and finally call her his wife. We’ll see you all there!
I grew up in a loving home with my parents and two sisters. When it was time to choose a college, I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and attend Andrews University (all the way in Michigan). But after just a week of summer school, I realized how much I missed my friends and family, and I knew I wanted to come home. Thankfully, I was able to transfer to La Sierra University, where I met Jacob for the first time during a PE class our freshman year. I thought he was cute, and we kept seeing each other every quarter in class, but it just wasn’t our time yet. Fast forward to senior year...it suddenly felt like Jacob couldn’t get enough of me! (Just kiddingggggg). At first, I was a little skeptical. At the time, boys whose names start with the letter “J,” drive Jeeps, and play baseball didn't exactly have the best track record (according to TikTok at least). HAHA. But it didn’t take long for me to see how kind, sweet, loving, and loyal Jacob really was. When he met my family for the first time, he instantly fit right in--so much so that my parents eventually started calling him their third son. Jacob has been my rock, my light, my constant, and my breath of fresh air. He’s been there for me through the worst and best of times, and I thank God every single day for letting me love, and be loved by someone as beautiful as my Coco.
