How We Met

We first met through some friends while I was attending college and he was working. As a group we planned to attend a horse show/convention together, which resulted in a group chat being made. Through that group chat I added Dylan to snapchat where we started to talk everyday, and feelings developed quickly throughout. When the show eventually came, and we met in person for the first time, I realized how much more I actually fell for him. However, it wouldn't be until 10 months later, with a little help from a friend and liquid courage, that I finally admitted how I felt about him. After being scared, we would finally go on our first date. If you ask him about it, he'll tell you that he hinted at how he felt multiple times but I couldn't take the hint. Although, I call it perfect timing, as we were able to build a solid foundation and got to know who we both were.

The Proposal

Both our families have always enjoyed the space and time spent in Tennessee. Although our adventures in Tennessee always differed, both families adored being in the mountains. While my family enjoyed eating, in town activities, and short walks around town, Dylan's family was different. They enjoyed cooking, lounging around, and the beautiful nature that the mountains offered. One place they always enjoyed that I had never been to was Clingmans Dome. Our first trip to Tennessee together he took me here to visit. A long steep climb on a paved road to the top was often tiring and difficult, but like the hardest paths in life, it led to a beautiful view (even though heights terrify me). This became one of the places we visited every time we came to Tennessee. On our first family vacation with the Greulich side, we once again planned to visit. However, little did I know it would be the best vacation and land me as a fiancé. After a long climb to the top, and a little anger (he didn't walk up with me and I was scared), Dylan asked me to take a picture with him like we always did. After some convincing (I was still upset) I got up to take a picture, not knowing his dad was videoing us. He got down on one knee and proposed, and there in that moment everything I had prayed for had aligned. As promised he proposed on top of the world as close to heaven as we could be, one thing we've always wanted.
