Please, may I have another? How did Craig propose? a. During a cruise vacation; the ring almost went overboard b. With a kitten; he was wearing socks with sandals c. A scavenger hunt ending on a beach; Alyssa wouldn't turn around ANSWERS! We met at Alyssa's dorm room in January of 2013; unbeknownst to Craig, the girl he was flirting with did not live in that room. The actual resident (Alyssa) was in the shower. She came back to find a strange dude in her room. Their first exchange was: Craig: "Who are you?" Alyssa: "I live here. Who are you?" They proceeded to talk until 4 a.m. Their first date was actually the disastrous picnic. It was the summer of 2013. Alyssa didn't know it was a date. Craig packed a picnic cooler filled with foods Alyssa happened to not like. They decided friends was best. It was 8 years! Their friendship continued to get stronger 'til Alyssa pushed Craig to admit he liked her. Their next date happened much sooner, and they shared their first kiss. After which, Craig said... "That was terrible! I can do that better." Alyssa had no complaints. But they tried again anyway. Craig was happier with his second attempt. Alyssa still had no complaints and called Tasha right after. As for the proposal, while there was a joke Alyssa would not say yes if Craig was wearing socks with sandals even if he proposed with a baby kitten, the true ask came with a scavenger hunt! They were on a couple's trip to Clearwater Beach. Alyssa's favorite place, and somewhere Craig had never been. He had 24 hours to write and hide the clues. And hope no stranger (or staff) removed his stickers. Everything went well until the last clue, which told Alyssa to look out at the ocean. She felt it was illogical given nothing could be hidden in the ocean so she refused to comply. Thankfully, a friend (Colton) encouraged her to at least try, giving Craig time to get down on one knee and ask. She said yes. And cried. A lot.
