FAQs

You have questions, we have answers.
Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

If you show up naked, you did it wrong. The dress code is garden party/semi-formal. We suggest cocktail dresses or sun dresses for women and suits (tie optional) for men. The ceremony will be outside, so sunglasses and sunscreen may be needed.

Question

What colors should I NOT wear?

Answer

The wedding party colors will be olive green, sage green, twilight/navy blue, and plum. Please try your best to avoid these colors.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited availability, only the names of the individuals listed on the invite are requested to attend the wedding. Please do not bring anyone if their name is not on the envelope invite, as the venue will not be able to accommodate them.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We respectfully request no children at the ceremony or reception, allowing all of our guests to enjoy an adults-only evening. Don’t make it weird and bring your kids.

Question

When should I RSVP?

Answer

The answer is NOW. We kindly ask that you RSVP via website link (found on invitation) or phone call/text as soon as you know whether or not you are able to make it so we can get a head count for both catering and the venue. Please RSVP no later than June 30th. If we do not receive an RSVP by then, we will assume you are unable to make it. We must turn in our numbers to the venue the next day and will not be able to accommodate anyone who RSVP's after that date.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception are at the same location. The reception will be held inside. The ceremony will be planned for outside in the garden on grass (be mindful of heels). In case of rain, the ceremony will be moved inside.

Question

What's the parking situation?

Answer

The parking lot has enough space to accommodate 150 vehicles. It is dirt and gravel, so please plan shoewear accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Preferably before the ceremony, which starts at 6pm. It wouldn't hurt to arrive around 5:30 because the ceremony STARTS at 6. Please follow the signage to the garden seating where an usher will seat you.

Question

What is the program?

Answer

Please arrive by 5:30pm. Ceremony BEGINS at 6pm. Cocktail hour to immediately follow. Reception BEGINS at 7pm.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly request that guests do not take photos during the ceremony if it involves leaning into the aisle to obstruct the bride and wedding party from the photographer. We have professional photographers to capture every moment so we can unplug and enjoy! We encourage guests to take pictures during the reception portion of the evening and post to social media using #SoupSnakesStokum. We will also have a QR code to download a "disposable camera" app that can be used throughout the evening.

Question

Will there be food served?

Answer

No, sit down and starve. In all seriousness, dinner and a dessert bar as well as multiple drink options will be served and available throughout the evening.

Question

Will there be bar service?

Answer

Yes, there will be a cash bar. Please drink responsibly. Cars can be left in the lot overnight if needed for an Uber and the gate will be locked overnight for security.

Question

Should I bring cash?

Answer

Yes, indeedy. You will need cash for the Money Dance and the bar.

Question

Will there be dogs?

Answer

The answer is always yes. If our dogs can't come, we're not going. There will be Golden Retrievers and a Boxer, all extremely friendly, all with no concept of personal space. If you are allergic or afraid, please have the usher seat you on the outside of the rows, away from the aisle. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items once a Golden Retriever gets a hold of them. By law, it is now their property. PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE DOGS, as they will have eaten before the ceremony and are prone to chunkiness.

Question

Can I text or call the bride the day-of to ask for directions or questions?

Answer

If you want to add to her level of constant stress, absolutely. If you're a decent person, no. The Matron of Honor would be happy to take your questions instead and her number can be found on the RSVP page.

Question

Any other questions?

Answer

Have a question we didn't cover? Please reach out to the Matron of Honor, Shiann, the bride, or the groom in that order. Their numbers are available on the RSVP page.
