Back in 2012, Alyssa was working at the hookah lounge called Desert Nights in Torrance to make some spare cash apart from her day job. Her friend Amber was a regular there and knew Evan. One day, her friend Amber and Evan were sitting in the same booth with a couple of her friends, and few of his friends, including Dylan, Jordan, and Ali. On this particular day, she brought a taser. Everyone was interested in it, including Dylan. While everyone passed it around and tried it out, Dylan and Alyssa may have been sitting next to each other, but didn't really notice one another. That was the first day they met. It wasn't until Dylan continued to visit Desert Nights, sometimes alone, sometimes with a friend, that Alyssa started to pick up on his intentions. They eventually went on their first date.
After trying to figure out where they should go on their first date, Dylan suggested going horse back riding up in Palos Verdes since he had never been and Alyssa hadn't been on a horse since she was little. Horse back riding it was. He picked her up in his truck, they went to the horse trails up in PV, and as luck would have it, they were the only couple on the trail. They had a wonderful time, took a couple pictures, and went to dinner. At the end of the date, Dylan dropped Alyssa off at her place, and sealed the night with a kiss.
The proposal was on Sunday March 19th, 2017. While Alyssa was getting anxious about her cardiac exam scheduled the following day, she knew Dylan had been wanting to go horse back riding again for sometime and had put this date together about a week prior. She didn't have the heart to ask him if they could go next week, when she wouldn't have an exam. That morning, they got ready, grabbed a backpack to throw some water in, and headed on their way. They got there a little early, so they decided to sit at a nice bench partially covered in the shade. While looking across the beautiful field out to the city below, Dylan asked her to scoot into the sun. He reached into his bag, with Alyssa expecting him to pull out the water bottle to have a drink, only to find a gorgeous red jewelry box in his hand. She then became aware he was on one knee. He opened up the box to this beautiful sapphire ring, and she said, "Yes," before he could officially ask her. Even after she jumped the gun, he asked her, "Will you marry me?" And she said yes again behind teary eyes. She got down on her knees with him, crying and holding him, and took a picture to commemorate the occasion. She was glad she decided not to ask Dylan to push back their date. Now as a side note, the DAY BEFORE, they were eating lunch at Chicken Maison, Alyssa started to joke that she wouldn't take his last name when they would get married. Little did she know, Dylan had the ring in his pocket during this conversation. She could only imagine the thoughts that went on in his head.
