Alyson & Neil were out with friends during the day celebrating Cinco de Mayo and drinking delicious margaritas. After stopping into several bars throughout the day, there was one last bar that was of interest to both of them... CAPO Basement in Southie. There was an amazing cover band playing on stage, the drinks were flowing and there Neil was, busting out his tall guy dance moves in the middle of the dance floor. Alyson spotted him quickly, as her tall guy radar was on. She sneakily made her way towards Neil and both groups began dancing together. Neil asked Alyson if she would like another drink, as the gentleman that he is, and she accepted. They made their way to the back bar where Neil asked what Alyson would like. She kindly asked for a Titos soda with LOTS of lemons. It was very loud in the bar, so both were practically yelling to hear each other speak. Alyson wasn't sure if he heard her correctly, but sure enough, Neil came back with 10 lemons all around the entire rim of the glass, so Alyson knew things were off to a great start. Little did Alyson know, she was the one who may not have understood him! Just 6 days later, they went on their first dinner date and Alyson realized he had an Irish accent! It made for some funny conversations, all having the words "what?" and "huh?" said several times, but over time, the two now understand each other's Boston and Irish accents clearly and have come to be translators for friends and family who are still adjusting. :) Fast forward to 1 year later; Alyson and Neil decide to move in together. Fast forward 2 years later; Alyson and Neil decide to buy their first puppy, Cappy. Just 1 month after that, Neil proposed in Portsmouth, NH and the following month, they purchased their first home! Throughout the past 2.5 years, Alyson and Neil have been on countless vacations, experienced many "firsts" together and are so excited to begin this next chapter of their lives together... marriage and building a family.
