Alysha and Katie met in 2010 at an orientation day at Saint Mary's College. They quickly became so inseparable that anyone trying to reach Alysha usually called Katie's phone instead. Katie has always been there, attending Alysha's dance performances as an amateur photographer, dragging her around campus to explore hidden nooks and crannies, and texting her throughout graduate school to keep her from procrastinating on her homework. Despite time and distance, when Katie and Alysha get on the phone, it's like no time has passed and they are back in their dorm room, talking late into the night.
Lauren Ficker

Lauren and Alysha met their freshman year of college in 2010 when they were assigned rooms next to each other. At first Lauren thought Alysha didn't like her and Alysha, as usual, was oblivious. After returning from studying abroad in Ireland, their friendship grew. They kept in touch despite living in different time zones and even different countries. Now, Lauren and Alysha get together a few times a year to play dress up, try to learn movie choreography, and just catch up on each other's lives.
Kelsey Loden

Alysha met Kelsey in 2014 when they moved into the same house in Indianapolis. Kelsey was enrolled in medical school while Alysha attended graduate school. They bonded through stress, talking while laying on the floor, and a mutual love of throwback playlists. Kelsey was there the night Alysha and Aaron met, when Aaron asked Kelsey to join his band and then asked Alysha to go on a date. Kelsey also helped Aaron plan and execute his proposal, helping to pick out a ring and serving as both chauffeur and photographer!
Davina Isaacs

Alysha met Davina for the first time in April 2021 when she came to Aaron and Alysha's house with her partner, Tom, another member of Dysfunktion Brass. Unaware of the visit, Lauren and Alysha were putting on a fashion show of outrageous Goodwill outfits. Davina walked into the chaos without batting an eyelash. Since then Davina and Alysha have become friends and concert partners, attending countless Dysfunktion Brass shows.
Jeff Crays

Jeff and Aaron met at the end of the year money band party at Ball State. Years later, they ran into each other in the Indy 11 rally band. Jeff also lived with Aaron and Alysha for several years and survived COVID locked in a house with them, a true feat! Jeff and Aaron have played many gigs together and Jeff is one of the people that's always ready to go to a concert with Aaron.

Aaron and Chris met at college in 2004. They’re the rhythm section. They were always going to be friends, it was just up to the universe to put them into the same orbit as each other. Those orbits collided at the Ball State School of Music in the Marching Band as the bottom bass drum and the end tuba. And living in the same dorm. And having birthdays a week apart. It was just fate.

Alex and Aaron met in their school band in 1999. Alex didn’t like Aaron … at first. But, they were seated next to each other in freshman band. Alex’s annoyance at the other members of his section was greater than his annoyance with Aaron. Then they both made Wind Ensemble. Aaron would say that “Slava!” really solidified their friendship.

Aaron and Alex also met in 1999 in their school band. Alex convinced Aaron to get a bike. It was super effective. Years later, Alex sold Aaron a road bike. Then, years later, Alex bought another bike. Since then, they’ve ridden thousands of miles together, up and down mountains, across Indiana, in snow, sleet, rain, storms, winds … all of it.
Ryan Sexton

Ryan and Aaron met in 1996 and lived practically across the street from each other. Through the many, many years, Ryan and Aaron have spent many hours playing games, going to concerts, and causing shenanigans together. When they say they go back, Ryan knows where the bodies are buried.
Matthew Biddle

Matt and Aaron met in 1992 because he lived down the street from Aaron. Matt and Aaron have also spent many hours playing games together, whether it be video games, computer games, or board games. They always come back to Dota 2.
Nathan Thompson

Nathan and Aaron met freshmen year of college in Marching Band and then rushed Phi Mu Alpha together. After college, they played on multiple trivia teams together. Whenever they're in the same town as each other, they try to link up for a beer at a brewery to discuss many deep things.
