We met through mutual friends at several events over the years, but the timing was never right. A chance encounter a couple of years ago changed everything. We felt a deep connection, and after our first kiss, we knew there was something magical.
Tyler planned the proposal months in advance with my parents. He would create a diversion, so my parents could go ahead of us, and write “Will you marry me?” in the sand. Life rarely works the way you plan it, so of course, Tyler spent most of our walk dragging me in the direction he needed me to go, while I argued that there was a better way to get there. He pointed out some flowers on the beach that were clearly out of place. I was so distracted by the flowers that it took several minutes for the words to register in my brain. I turned to Tyler, and he was already on one knee, and said the words I have longed to hear “Will you marry me?”. I was so overcome with emotion that I could only nod and cry.
