How it all started

Jess's POV: Tanner and I have known each other for over ten years through school and mutual friends. Looking back, it seems like we were always near each other, but always sort of missing each other. Flash forward to February 2021, Tanner reached out to me through instagram. First, we started a friendship. We would talk about travel, future goals and we recommended many movies to each other (fun fact: name any classic movie and Tan probably has NOT seen it). Eventually, Tanner had reached out about potentially meeting up to grab a drink. Life looked a lot different during this time with all the covid regulations. Despite the overall gloom in Sacramento, we still made it happen. Tanner and I met at a downtown bar to grab a couple of drinks. The night went so well we ended up spending the entire night, and early hours of the next day, talking about a million different things. Tanner says this evening changed his plans for a "Hot Boy Summer". Instead we had an instant connection and he said he called his dad the next day to tell him he met the person he thinks he is going to be with. From this day forward we spent all of our time together. Eventually I actually caught Covid and quarantined with Tanner at his apartment. This changed the pace of the relationship. I never left. There was (and is) something so natural about our relationship. I am not exactly the most spontaneous person. I prefer order, knowing how things will go, and a whole lot of structure. There was something about Tanner that made me throw all of that out the window. I have never in my life entered into anything without having a plan. I have no regrets. My life with Tanner is everything I wanted and everything I need. Life only continued to get better from there. In October of 2022 we welcomed our daughter into the world. Although nothing has ever felt missing, Dakota somehow makes us more whole. We adore our baby and have worked hard to create such a fulfilling life. This has all lead up to our next life goal, GETTING MARRIED!! We are so excited to continue growing our life and doing all the things that we feel make life even better. I get to marry my best friend and the best person I have ever known, and it's all thanks to social media... A modern day love story. Tanner's POV: Jess and I went to the same high school together. I used to check her out all the time. This didn’t matter because we never talked. Thankfully we reunited at a couple of hangs with mutual friends when we were 18 years old. We used these times as an opportunity to not talk to each other. again. After 8 more years and a global pandemic I thought it’d be the perfect time to slide in her DM’s. I wanted to get back into the dating scene. Jess was my one date on this journey. After our date I came home and called my dad. I told him about the girl he was going to meet one day. I avoided talking to my close friend. Hot boy summer was off. She was totally into me; I was into her as well. So much so I quarantined with the virus that the world was afraid of. After the quarantine week I couldn’t wait for her to leave. Then she did, so I played it cool and let a few hours pass before asking her to come back. We now have a sought-after relationship, a beautiful daughter, and we’re totally in love. This marriage is to grow and unite us and our families. We have the people we want to live life and create memories with. I have everything I’ve ever wanted. A love story.
