We’re an online dating success story, thank you, Bumble (where the woman is in control… which, in hindsight, probably told David everything he needed to know about how this would go). Our first date was at a wine bar in San Antonio. I drove in from Austin, and David… was 'fashionably' late. Luckily, I decided to stay. We ended up talking for hours, one of those dates that just flows and somehow flies by at the same time. We both knew pretty early that this was different. About a year in, we started talking seriously about marriage, but if we’re honest, we felt it way before that. David’s friends and family had just about given up on him ever getting married… We balance each other well, he’s calm, I’m a little fiery, and somewhere in the middle, it just works. The past year has been a bit of a whirlwind. We’ve been living together, I made the move from Austin, together we closed one restaurant, opened another, and I traded the tech world to join him in the restaurant full time as the Mayoress. It’s been non stop and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We’re a pretty great team. In February 2026, David surprised me with a beach proposal in Spanish Wells, Bahamas. Completely unexpected, and completely perfect. Then there’s Uruguay. We traveled there in November 2024 to visit our friends German and Luis of Bodega Garzon. We fell in love with the people, the culture, and the beach. It felt special from the start, and we knew we wanted to return and share it with the people we love most. We’re so excited to celebrate this special moment with each of you in one of our favorite places in the world. We’ve planned a weekend that’s intimate, relaxed, and rooted in everything we love; beautiful surroundings, incredible food, wine, and time together with the people who mean the most to us. This is the first (and only) marriage for both of us. My brother Bill calls us “unicorns” and honestly, he’s not wrong. It took us a while to find each other, but we’re so glad we did. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with you!
