Airport tips

We suggest flying into Auckland airport and catching a connecting flight to Tauranga. There is a bus as an alternative but often the prices are comparable. New Zealand takes bio-security seriously. Plan for up to an hour wait to go through border control and clear bio-security. If you are bringing hiking boots or other outdoor gear, they must be washed in advance to avoid longer processing time.

Avis, Hertz or Budget

Hertz, Budget and Avis Car rentals easily found at both the Auckland and Tauranga airport, remember to we drive on the left in New Zealand! Renting a car and roadtripping to Tauranga is another great option.
