Question

What do I need to know about traveling to the Dominican Republic?

Answer

Here are some things the bride and groom learned on their recent trip to Punta Cana: *Customs charges $10 cash for entry into the country (per person) *Bring plenty of cash, specifically small bills (1's, 5's and 10's) to have on hand for tipping *The hotel does provide currency exchange on site (approximately 47 pesos per dollar) *Bring plenty of sunscreen with you and apply it liberally, even if the day is overcast - the sun is very strong * The DR is very humid (80-90% daily), but it only takes a day to acclimate

Question

Are kids welcome at the wedding?

Answer

Yes! The bride and groom will be bringing their little boys, Dylan and Conrad, and invite all their guests to travel with their children to this family-friendly celebration. If mom and dad need a little private time away during the trip, the resort has a a fully supervised children’s program with lots of fun activities (age 3 to 12 - Open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.)

Question

How do I book my travel and get the group discount?

Answer

Contact our travel agent George and book your travel as early as possible to get the best rate ($125 deposit per person will hold your reservation). The balance is due 45 days before your trip. The latest date to book will be February 28, 2018, however, since the wedding is the week of Easter Sunday flights will be full and prices will go up...so we don't recommend waiting this long. A minimum 3-night stay is required to take advantage of the group discount through Apple Vacations.

Question

What do I need to do to prepare for the trip?

Answer

#1 - Apply for or renew your passport early! Passports must be valid through at least 6 months past the date of the trip, or through the month of October 2018. If your passport expires before then, you must renew it. Processing times for passports are 6-8 weeks (routine) or 2-3 weeks if you pay to have it expedited. Note that all children must also have a valid passport to travel, and the application must be submitted in person (cannot be done by mail). #2 - Make your deposit to hold your flight and hotel reservation. This can be booked through our travel agent. Apple Vacations requires a $125 deposit per person and the balance is due 45 days before the trip.
