Altaira standing near the DJ booth on a Friday night at Bobby McGee's, minding her own business and keeping an eye on her team while at work...and along came Danny Greco with his smooth talk and charming eyes. Right away he made a good impression, asking questions about where she was from, what brought her to this south side bar, and any other information he could pry from her (someone was aware that women like to talk - not be talked at). She sensed that he was not like others she'd met before, and was convinced of this when they finally had the chance to meet up for an official first date nearly a month later: drinks at the Twisted Shamrock Pub, which is now less than a mile from the home they share together with their two kids in Chicago.
It was Christmas Eve morning 2015 and Dylan Greco woke his parents up nice and early. Altaira unwrapped a gift from Danny...a photo album, full of memories from their family's first full year together in their new house and Dylan's first year of life. Altaira was teary as she flipped through the pages slowly, commenting on all the good times. On the final page of the album was a photo of their son Dylan holding a sign that said "Mommy, will you marry daddy and become a Greco? I want us all to have the same last name. Love, Dylan". At that moment she looked up at Danny to find him holding her grandmother's ring, a family heirloom that he knew was special to her. She said yes...Dylan shouted "hooray!" and the engagement was official.
