Yay, Marriage!

It's all started when we both swiped right... Our first date was February 2, 2017 at Papa's Soul Food. Andres got there before Aloura and was talking to his boss when she arrived. She actually met his employer before she officially met him! They both were thrown off. Aloura ordered chicken and waffles... she doesn't like chicken and waffles. After dinner is when Aloura first met the Avocado, Andres's outrageously green, brand new car. A few hours of conversation and an awkward request to hold hands later, they became inseparable.

It was a snowy day. Aloura was annoyed. Valentines Day was only a day away and they STILL WERE NOT ENGAGED. Andres was swamped with homework and needed a break. He proposed a hike at a place one of his classmates recommended. They packed some sandwiches and got in the car. When they arrived, they found $40 in the snow. A sign of good things to come. After walking down a short trail, they came to a giant, snow cover frozen lake. Andres, the most risk-averse human Aloura knows- who cannot swim- suggested they go walking across the lake. So they went. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Andres, sure he was going to fall through the ice to his death at any second did not allow Aloura to get too close to him. He also insisted they didn't stop too long in any one point. Survival tactics. Finally. In the middle of a giant lake with nothing but snow and ice surrounding them, Andres stopped. He looked Aloura in the eyes and started saying the sweetest things to her. There was a long pause between them, filled with excitement and expectation. He took a deep breath and said, " Get away from me. We have to keep moving." A few minutes later, he finally over came his fear of an icey death to grab her hand, get on one knee and ask her to marry him. She said yes. They then bee-lined it to safety and ate their sandwiches on the shore. On their way home they went to Boston's North End to spend the cash they found on the ground. In a tiny cafe, they drank fancy coffee and shared cheesecake while people watching and talking about their future together. <3
