Her Story: Greg and I met via the dating app, Coffee Meets Bagel. I had been on a spurt of dating for a while and was about to take a hiatus when I came across Greg's profile and thought "here's a guy who seems fun and silly, why not?" So we started chatting and met up a few days later at Philz Coffee in Cupertino. What had started as just a simple coffee date in the late afternoon then extended until sundown and I remember being relieved and glad when Greg asked, "It's getting pretty late, are you hungry? Should we get dinner?" I remember that first date being so comfortable and easy - like catching up with an old friend - and that's how we easily began seeing each other more and more often. :) His Story: Lisa and I met on Coffee Meets Bagel. While we were chatting on the app, I remember thinking how cool and easy-going Lisa seemed. After messaging for a while, we got coffee late one summer afternoon at Philz. I remember talking to Lisa was so easy and fun, the time just flew by. Before we knew it, the sun had set and it was getting chilly. I was enjoying our time together so much, so I asked her if she'd like to have dinner next door, and was so happy when she said yes. Since that night, our story has been one long series of me being so happy, because she keeps saying "yes."
We had a short romantic getaway trip planned in Cabo, Mexico from October 21-24, 2018. We stayed at the Marquis Hotel, and Greg had planned for a beautiful, beachside proposal followed by a dinner by the beach at the hotel. Unfortunately, due to the hurricanes during that time, the hotel had to notify us on the day he was to propose (Tuesday, October 23) that the beach was closed and they would set up the presidential suite for us to have dinner, but we should meet with the photographer downstairs. By this time, Lisa already knew something was up (in Lisa's mind "first you tell me to bring a nice dress, and now we're not just going to the restaurant?"). A photographer greeted us downstairs and found a nice spot between palm trees, and that's when Greg got down on one knee and popped the question. <3 We took some cute photos, had an amazing dinner, and all the rest is history ;)
