Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please kindly RSVP by December 21, 2019 :-)

Question

Who should I contact if I have a question or concern?

Answer

Feel free to email us at alohaoketanis@gmail.com, even if you just want to say hi :-) If you have a question please call or text Julia's sister and matron of honor, Sandy, at (206) 992-6853

Question

What's the weather like in March?

Answer

The weather in March is usually pretty mild, less hot than the summer months with fewer rain showers than in the winter. The nighttime low temperature average will be around 67 degrees while the daytime high temperature average will be around 81 degrees. We do want to stress that our wedding will be held outdoors with no coverings so bring an extra cardigan with you if you tend to run cold.

Question

What is Island Semi Formal?

Answer

We want our guest to be comfortable, so please leave your fancy formal wear at home. We recommend a nice summer dress with flats or wedges, or a nice dress shirt or an Aloha shirt with khakis. Wear something that you can dance in!

Question

Will there be parking?

Answer

Yes, there will be 200 parking stalls available to our guests and there will be a parking attendant present. If arriving after 6:30, please use code found on the schedule page of our website. As there will be an open bar, we recommend that our guest take an Uber so that we can party and get everyone home safely!

Question

What does Lanikūhonua mean?

Answer

Lanikūhonua means "where heaven meets the earth". We feel so grateful to be exchanging vows and celebrating with our family and friends at a place that is not only beautiful, but also has a mission of sustaining Hawaiian culture. For more information, visit their website at: https://www.lanikuhonua.com/culture/

Question

What is that foil seal symbol on your invitation?

Answer

It is the Oketani mon, or Oketani family crest, which depicts three ginkgo leaves arranged side by side in a circle. In addition to representing Jordon's family name, ginkgo leaves represent longevity in both Chinese and Japanese culture while circles represent unity or togetherness in Chinese culture. We couldn't think of a more fitting symbol than this to include on our wedding stationary!
