And so the story begins...

Well, its a 5 year story that starts with Bumble, Applebees boneless wings and a mutual love for whiskey. We met in 2017 while both living in the Seattle/Tacoma area for work. Chris was then a Captain in the US Army, stationed at Fort Lewis, south of Tacoma, and Jenna was working for Amazon, living in Seattle. Depending on which one of us you ask you might get a different story...but Chris would say he put Jenna through a series of tests before we made it official. We were in Washington together for two years where we spent more time apart than we did together. Chris was often away training at Yakima Training Center in Central Washington or at Fort Irwin in California, before he deployed for Pacific Pathways to Thailand and the Philippines. We moved to Colorado Springs in 2019 for Chris's new job working for the Security Forces Assistance Brigade, while Jenna was still able to work remote for Amazon. We love Colorado and were lucky enough to spend a year and a half there with wonderful friends. Unfortunately, COVID kept us from a lot of the usual Colorado adventures and (fortunately) stopped Chris's deployment to Afghanistan, but we made the best of our time there. In July of 2020 we took a road trip around the state for 12 days - we visited 9 cities, 3 national parks, spent time fishing, hiking, biking, and eating all the food. In 2021 we moved to Kansas City so Chris could complete his Masters Degree at the Command and General Staff College and promote to Major. Chris proposed in Kansas City the day after Jenna's birthday. In all our years together we've always spent Jenna's birthday and Valentines Day apart, and Chris certainly made up for the lost ones this time. Chris took Jenna down to the Kansas City River Walk where he had a musician and friends waiting for the big moment. The answer was a "hell yes" and we ended the night drinking champagne with friends, eating lots of oysters, and had a private bartender making us the fanciest of whiskey drinks. In 2022, we moved to Hawaii for our next adventure and it still feels like a dream. We are so happy to be here for three years and to have our wedding celebration with family and friends in such a beautiful place. The last 5 years has been quite the ride, from jumping out of airplanes to hiking in canyons, fly fishing to flying helicopters, all the traveling and eating wild food, moving, deployments, and everything in between...and it has only just begun.

For all the days along the way
