Though our wedding isn't going to be a typical Israeli wedding, you can expect lots of food upon arrival, a short ceremony in the middle and a few hours of straight dancing!
The average temperature in the Tel Aviv area is somewhere between 73 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit. If you go to the mountainous areas (Jerusalem, the Galilee) it'll be a bit more chilly. If you go south to the desert (the Dead Sea, the Negev, Eilat) it will be hotter and dryer.
Israel is pretty casual when it comes to the dress code. Like almost everywhere in the world, casual is the "rule" for everyday sightseeing. You can feel free to get more elegant for the evening. Bring good walking shoes or sneakers and "layers." Some religious shrines require modest dress (arms and legs covered).
Israel is big on tourism so most of the people speak English to some degree, most street signs are both in Hebrew, Arabic and English and almost all restaurants have English menus.
BUS: Israel has a great and inexpensive bus systems, with almost every city, town, village and settlement connected to the system. TRAIN: High speed trains link Ben Gurion Airport with Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa, and there are fast, efficient and inexpensive train service throughout much of the country. TAXIS: There are taxis available in the cities, and taxi drivers are also happy to take you between cities. Check the price before you start your journey. GETT: "GETT" is a taxi app that helps you find a taxi easily. We recommend downloading it in case you need it. CAR RENTAL: Most international car rental groups have offices in Israel – and there are excellent Israeli car rental firms too. Your American or Canadian drivers’ license is valid in Israel though we recommend being extra careful if you choose this option. Israeli drivers can be a bit aggressive.
For U.S. and Canadian citizens, all you need is a passport that’s valid at least six months longer than your date of arrival in Israel. (For stays up to three months, you don’t need a visa.) If you’re not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, the same conditions apply to citizens of most western countries.
