FAQs

Question

Is your venue in Austin?

Answer

Our venue is in Dripping Springs, just about 30 minutes from downtown Austin. The hotel we have recommended is in downtown Austin, 32 minutes from the venue, but you are welcome to stay wherever is most convenient for you!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire! Floor length gowns and tuxedos are not required. We encourage you to play with color and/or patterns, especially fall colors that will be present in our wedding. Note that there is lots of beautiful, grassy outdoor space where our ceremony and cocktail hour will take place, so we recommend block heels over stilettos.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

While we would love to be able to accommodate as many guests as possible, we do have a limited guest count and want to give preference to the loved ones in our lives. If you are in a long term relationship, we have done our best to include your significant other as a guest. Please limit your attendance to the guest count indicated on your invitation.

Question

Can I bring my kid?

Answer

While we love little ones, we want everyone in attendance to have a fun and mostly carefree weekend in Austin. I (Alma) know better than anyone that kids are a hoot but also sometimes a hassle. Plus, our venue is on a gorgeous hill country overlook with lots of beautiful, unfenced land. We want you on the dance floor enjoying yourself, not worrying about your kids running off into the wilderness to live with the coyotes. Because of that, combined with our limited guest count, we kindly ask you to leave your kiddo at home and stick to the number of guests on your invitation. If you would like to/need to bring your kids to Austin for the weekend, we can gladly recommend a babysitter for the wedding day. Kids are welcome at the Welcome Lunch on Saturday!

Question

What kind of food will be served?

Answer

In the spirit of fun and movement, we will be moving away from a traditional seated meal and instead opting for station style food. This means that you'll be able to pick from all or some of various stations including Texas-inspired sliders, fun and fresh tacos, Mexican street corn, and seafood bites. We encourage you to channel your inner Jay and Alma and try something that you may not be familiar with. We promise it'll be delicious! If you need a vegetarian/vegan option, please indicate so on your invitation so that we can prepare enough of our plant-based options.
