Matron of Honor
Taylor and I met in PT school; she got me through a lot of tough times and also introduced me to Hot Yoga. Since then, she's become one of my best friends and someone I know I can always depend on. She has a way of making me feel calm regardless of circumstances (what a great quality to have in a MOH!) and you'll never catch her without a smile on her face. I was one of her Maids of Honor in her wedding and now the roles are reversed!
Bridesmaid
Mackenzie and I have been best friends since 2009 when our high school lockers were assigned next to each other because our last names were just one letter off. Some may call it fate! Our friendship has experienced many of life's stages including high school, college, graduate school, a move to Tampa, and now weddings, and it has been such a blessing to me. I can't wait for her to stand beside me on my wedding day and as we continue to grow!
Bridesmaid
My sweet, Carl. We met in PT school and instantly connected (Her husband, Jordan, is one of my favorites, too!). She has the softest heart and is the sweetest soul. There is no better listener than Carly. We share a love of hiking and exploring, and started a tradition of taking National Park trips together. So far we have been to Joshua Tree NP, Pinnacles NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Zion NP, and Smokey Mountain NP, and several other hikes in between. I can't wait for more trips and can't wait to have her stand beside me on our big day!
Bridesmaid
You will never meet a kinder person than Meg. She is the "fun" friend; always down to have a good time and keeps the party going! We met in PT school and I'm so glad we did. She's the best hype woman and she has a way of making you feel so special and important. We've enjoyed many lake weekends together at her parents' lake cottage and those are some of my fondest memories. I am so excited to share this milestone with her!
Bridesmaid
Skylar and I go way back. We were acquaintances in high school through sports and just being from a small town, but our true friendship started in college. We moved into a little house just off of Ball State's campus our senior year and then ended up being roomies for another 3 years in Indianapolis. From late nights at Brothers and trips to the Puerta truck to weekends in the Coke Lot at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (yikes!) to trying to figure out how to be adults, Skylar is as loyal as they come, and I'm so lucky to have her on my side.
Bridesmaid
There is no one quite like Mel. Our friendship started when we became coworkers. Making friends at work can be difficult, but Mel made it easy. Her compassion goes beyond the therapy gym; she is hilarious, kind, giving, and known to fall through screen doors every once in a while. One of the most encouraging people I've ever met and that friend who just knows when to check in. It's impossible to not be in a good mood when you're around her. Mel is a crowd favorite, and she's one of mine, too.
Bridesmaid
Maddy and I are connected in multiple ways: she's Mackenzie's (my other bridesmaid) sister AND she dates my brother, Andrew. I first knew Maddy as "Mackenzie's sister," but over the last 9 years, Maddy has become family to me. She is intelligent, hardworking, and altruistic. We share a love of thrifting, rummage sales, and cruises. Hopefully soon that "h" turns into a "t" ;)
Bridesmaid
The Garrett boys know how to pick 'em! Lindsey has been dating my other brother, Austin, for 10 years. She has been such an integral part of our family, and when I think of Austin, I think of her. We've shared lots of fun memories together including a trip to Disney, multiple cruises (and her first ever Tequila shot!), and trips to the lake. Although she doesn't like to play games, we won't hold that against her ;)
Bridesmaid
Haley is Matt's sister, and my soon-to-be sis! She's determined, tough as heck, adventurous, and loves dogs. One of the bravest people I know and someone who isn't afraid to take chances. She keeps Matt in line (lol), and for that, I am thankful. One of my favorite trips was when we visited her in Washington D.C. and she showed us around her then home. I've always wanted a sister, and I'm so grateful that it will be Haley.
Best Man
The last name might have given it away, but Alex is Matt's brother. They go way back - 28 years to be exact. From playing football in the field across the street from their childhood home, to moving back in with each other at Ball State, to now enjoying adult ski and hiking trips, they've come a long way. He's got more hair and more jokes than Matt and is known for his sense of humor. We know he'll give a speech to remember on our big day!
Groomsman
Tyler and Matt met in college their sophomore year at Ball State. Tyler and Matt bond over potential business ideas and the gym, and you can often find them talking about each other's muscles. He's dependable, quirky and is always trying new things. Be on the lookout for Matt and Tyler's future small business - whether it's hot sauce, brewing beers, or the latest furniture craze, nobody knows!
Groomsman
Avery and Matt met their freshman year of college and are the Founding Fathers of their fraternity at Ball State. They have a mutual love of adult recreational sports and often could be found pumping iron at the Rec Center. When they're not being #TotalAthletes, they're fact-checking each other and competing over who can make a stronger drink. Luckily, Avery won't be the bartender on our big day.
Groomsman
Matt F. and Matt C. also met in college. We refer to them as Freeman and Collison, otherwise things get really confusing. Freeman was Collison's big in his fraternity but who's bigger now? After college, Freeman spent a lot of time across the country and even across the globe, but that didn't stop the two from being friends. Now he's back in Indiana and we are so glad to have him back and that he's a part of our big day!
Groomsman
Mike and Matt met on the football field as Munster Mustangs their freshman year of high school and also made it to state in track in 2011. They enjoyed each other's company so much that they became fraternity brothers and lived together all four years at Ball State. Not only was Mike Matt's roommate, but also his personal stylist, otherwise you might've caught Matt in cargo shorts and a polo every Friday night. Now they've traded those outfits in for suits in each other's weddings.
Groomsman
Matt and Joel met as pee-wee soccer players. Matt started liking the other type of football, but Joel called an audible and joined the marching band. College took them to different places but Joel and Matt would always catch up during breaks from school, often at the legendary Collison get-togethers. With an ear for music, you'll be sure to catch Joel on the dance floor at our reception!
Groomsman
Andrew is one of Ally's brothers and where Matt gets his betting advice from. Despite his efforts, Matt hasn't been able to beat him at anything sports related. Andrew and Matt have enjoyed many nights at Indy's #1 bar: the Dugout. Knowledgeable on medical information and all-things-basketball, he is a good one to have in your corner. Always sure to make you laugh and never a dull moment when he's around. We know he will add so much joy to our big day and to our future.
Groomsman
Austin rounds out the Garrett family as Ally's brother and Andrew's twin. An avid golfer, he's frequently challenging Matt to a round, and always winning. When he's not taking names on the greens, he can be found tearing it up in the kitchen. Generous with his time and kindness, he's constantly doing something thoughtful and creative. He's known for wanting to upgrade our lake vacations to overseas trips, which we aren't mad about. We can't wait to share our big day with him!
Groomsman
Nick and Matt met Matt's junior year at Ball State through their fraternity. He's fun to be around and often the provider of comic relief. The "red-headed stepchild" of the Collison family, if you will, he's joined Matt and his family on many vacations. These two have also lived together in multiple Broad Ripple apartments and frequented the piano bar so often they became acquaintances with the owner. Nick obsesses over pasta - so you're welcome for the pasta buffet ;)
