Who would've thought we'd meet the "old fashioned way." Matt and I both went to Ball State (Chirp, Chirp!), and, unbeknownst to us, were there at the same time.....and had mutual friends. Who knows, we might have even been beer pong partners at a house party, but we never knew we could have potentially crossed paths. Fast forward 5 years and we both are settled in the Indianapolis area. He an IT guy and me finally getting in my groove as a Physical Therapist. We had both been in relationships that didn't work out and had taken a break from the dating scene, until one day I was having a margarita on Cinco De Mayo 2021 with some of my bible study friends and the Tequila started talking. Ally (a different one, not me) was one of those girls in my bible study group that evening. She just so happened to know this single guy named Matt that she was really good friends with at Ball State. Being 2021, we followed each other on Instagram and stalked each other's profile. Surprisingly, I made the first move, asking if Matt would like to go on a date sometime. After a month and some change of exchanging texts, we had our first date on June 13th. The Bachelorette premiere had been that week prior, so we talked a lot about that (yes, Matt loves #BachNation) the preceding week. When Matt picked me up that hot summer evening, he, like the gentleman he is, greeted me outside the door with a singular rose and "asked if I would accept this rose." Where my Bach fans at?? We went on our first date to Livery (a restaurant downtown) and then St. Joseph's Brewery because we just weren't ready for the night to end. And the rest is history <3
