Question

Welcome Party Dress Code?

Answer

Elevated Casual Men: button-downs, chinos, sport coats. Women: more casual dresses, jumpsuits, etc.

Question

Ceremony & Reception Dress Code?

Answer

Formal Attire Men: dark suits and ties - tuxedos are great if you have them, but not required! Women: gowns are welcome, as are long dresses.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes - we will be providing buses to and from the ceremony and reception venue. The pick-up and drop-off location will be outside of the Omni Hotel on Water Street. See the schedule tab for additional info. Charlottesville is a college town so Uber/Lyft is readily available (Eastwood is only ~15 minutes from downtown).

Question

Is parking available at Eastwood?

Answer

While there is some free parking available at the venue, we recommend taking the provided buses from downtown. They'll get you there on time and home safe so you can enjoy the festivities to the fullest!

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

October in Virginia can be a mixed bag. It looks like it might be chillier than expected on Saturday, so we'd definitely recommend a wrap or shawl to cover bare shoulders at night and sunglasses for our outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. Check the forecast right before traveling for the most accurate weather. (P.S. Ally hired an Etsy witch so fingers crossed.)

Question

You just said weather is variable, Are all of your events seriously outside?

Answer

Yes, because we love taking unnecessary risks! Our welcome party on Friday night will be indoors. All wedding day events are at Eastwood Farm and Winery - our ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on a large lawn with mountain views and our reception will take place under a sailcloth tent. Should it rain, all events will occur underneath the tent.

Question

Is there anything that I should avoid wearing?

Answer

We strongly recommend that guests avoid wearing stilettos to avoid sinking into the grass. We also kindly ask guests to avoid wearing colors reserved for the bride - white, ivory, or cream.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

Your kids are very cute (seriously, like all of them), but we have decided to keep our wedding an adults-only occasion. We hope you understand and enjoy the night off!
