Mike and I met on the dating website OkCupid. It wasn’t that “oh we were in the grocery store and locked eyes in the dairy aisle...” kind of story, but it was fate. If it wasn’t for online dating, we probably would have never met. All of the stars aligned at the right time. I had recently turned off my account and Mike wasn’t as active. I was sick at home, bored. For fun, I reactivated my account for the day. I extended my mileage radius just to see. When I came across Mike’s profile, I stopped. He was very cute. I liked his profile, there was something refreshing. Me, being stubborn, didn’t want to reach out to him and break my golden rule of making contact first. Instead, I came up with this strategic idea to keep looking at his profile and then hopefully he would check to see who viewed him (I learned later usually women only pay attention to this feature). I viewed his profile for a few days hoping he’d notice me. Still nothing. Something was telling me not to give up. Finally, I decided to send him a message, but worried he wouldn’t respond. I sat down and crafted what I thought was a perfect opener “I like your eyes”. When he responded, I was excited. We talked for a few days and then started dating. Our first date was on Halloween at Plan Check. Mike broke some of my dating rules on the 1st date. No to lunch dates and proceed with caution if they don’t offer to pay for the first date, etc. The forecast for Mike didn’t look good at first, but there was something different about him. Things ended up progressing nicely. We kept each other on our toes and always had a lot of fun together. 2 years later, after many adventures together, Mike proposed on the same day we met, Halloween, at the same place we had our first date. It has been a wonderful year of engagement. Mike & I have always supported one another, learning and loving as we go. ❤️ To many more years of happiness and love!❤️ We invite you to visit our photo section of our website.
