Liss Ard Sky Garden
World-renowned land architect, James Turrell, built a crater on the hotel grounds that is simply hard to fully describe in words. He lived at the estate from 1990-1992. Walk through the tunnel entrance, lie down on the stone located at the center of the crate, and stare at the Irish Sky. It is a sublime experience unlike any other.

During recent renovations, Liss Ard added several amenities for guests to enjoy. One of the most popular options is the sauna and fitness center overlooking the lake. It's a perfect way to treat yourself to a quick workout or a moment of calm and relaxation.
Skibbereen Golf Club
A short 10 minute drive away from the hotel, Skibbereen Golf Club in an 18-hole golf course open from dawn to dusk. The grounds offer quintessential views of West Cork and Baltimore. Carts and clubs are available for rental, and they have a clubhouse with a full bar and restaurant.

The local town is equally vibrant and quaint. There are shops, restaurants, and a market. The scenery surrounding Skibbereen is beautiful offering views of River Ilen and green rolling hills
Lough Hyne
Lough Hyne, Ireland’s first designated Marine Nature Reserve, is the only salt-water lake in the country. Its unique eco-system runs on warm oxygenated seawater, making it home to over 70 species of fish, a vast variety of plants, and other marine life such as seals, otters, and dolphins. Many guests like to rent kayaks and paddle around the lake or just go for a swim. .
