Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We would love to see each and every one of you at our wedding! In order to help us appropriately plan table settings, bar stock, etc., please RSVP by May 11, 2026

What is the dress code?

Answer

We would like to see everyone comfortable and looking their best. We’d prefer if guests would adhere to a formal attire, but can always dress up more if desired! For example, some options include knee length to floor length dresses, jumpsuits or pantsuits, suits, dress pants/dress shirt/ties, sport coats. Summers in Wisconsin can be quite warm with average high temperatures in July of 82F (28C). Keep in mind that the ceremony will take place outdoors and that we will have access to the Tripp Deck all evening. Please, no denim, shorts, tee shirts, workwear, sneakers, or boots unless you are over the age of 75!

Can I bring my child?

Answer

We want you to enjoy your night out! This is a child-free wedding. We cannot accommodate children at the venue with the only exception being first cousins of the bride and groom.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Unfortunately, there is no parking at the Memorial Union. The Helen C. White Library parking garage is directly next to the Union, however spaces are limited. The closest city parking garage is located on N Frances Street and is a 7 minute walk away. To try to mitigate the need for vehicles, we have selected hotel blocks that are all within walking distance of the venue.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

The Wisconsin Union will happily cater to dietary restrictions. During the meal service, please let a staff member know your restriction and they will prepare an appropriate meal for you. Please note we cannot guarantee that our selected entrees (beef or chicken) are vegetarian or gluten free.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Guests may begin to gather upstairs on the Tripp Hall Deck starting at 2:30pm. If you arrive early, enjoy some time on the terrace watching the lake whilst sat in the iconic “sunburst” chairs.

How do I get to Tripp Hall

Answer

If you have found the main entrance to Memorial Union on Langdon Street, congratulations! It is so very simple from there. Towards the right and straight ahead, you will see a staircase/elevator. Please go up to floor 2. From there, you will follow to the left and left again until you see two large, dark wooden doors. If all else fails, follow the signs ;)

What time is last call?

Answer

Last call at the bar will be at 11:00 pm with drinks made up until 11:30 pm. Everyone will need to leave the venue by midnight.
