On an unseasonably warm 5 January 2011, we greeted each other in the driveway of what would be our house for the next five months. We were to perform 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'Julius Caesar' for eager middle schoolers throughout New Jersey. Our fathers were our rides that day and they immediately bonded by teasing us about packing too much. As rehearsals began, so did the courting. Allison watched in awe as Teddy crafted the beats of Thisbe's death scene into perfectly-timed, seemingly effortless hilarity. He insisted they bake bread together. She left him notes on gum wrappers in the shape of paper cranes. We didn't want to upset the group dynamic by becoming a couple, but after three weeks of resisting the inevitable: we kissed while watching "The Office." We were blessed to be on tour with a group of people who nurtured our love. Those friendships are forever woven into the chord that keeps our relationship strong. We are so grateful.
Seven years to the day after our first kiss, he insisted that we have a lazy morning in bed. It was about 8am and we were joking and cuddling while watching a light snow fall. Teddy suddenly got very serious and said, "I want to do everything with you." He then reached over to his nightstand and put the open ring box on Allison's pillow. "I really want to do everything with you." Allison's reply (a signature) "Really!?" was followed by a waterfall of tears and an enthusiastic "YES!"
