FAQs

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact either Allison or Shekar!
Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We invite you to enjoy an adults' night out (if you have kiddos, we recommend booking a trusted sitter through care.com or sittercity.com). Of course, we completely understand if you need to bring your little one(s) - just let us know in the RSVP. Yes, kids can attend the Sangeet as the brewery allows families.

Question

What is the closest airport?

Answer

San Diego International Airport

Question

What are Sangeet & Mehndi?

Answer

The Sangeet (meaning "music together") is a pre-wedding celebration where family and friends gather for an evening of music, dancing, and festivities. The Mehndi is a tradition where henna designs are applied to the bride's hands and feet (and anyone else who wishes to participate!). Both celebrations are joyful, relaxed gatherings that allow everyone to connect before the wedding day. There's no formal program or guest participation required—simply come ready to relax and celebrate with us!

Question

How long does Mehndi take?

Answer

Designs can take 5-15 minutes depending on the complexity. The henna paste will need to stay on for 1-2 hours for best results, and will gradually darken over 24-48 hours. Don't worry—artists can create simplified designs that dry quickly if you prefer!

Question

How do I dress for the festivities?

Answer

Indian attire is encouraged but absolutely not required! If you'd like to wear Indian clothing such as a saree, lehenga, kurta, or sherwani, please do! Otherwise, smart casual or cocktail attire is perfectly appropriate. This is a fun celebration, so wear something you feel comfortable in.

Question

Where can we find traditional Indian clothing?

Answer

If you'd like to wear Indian attire, we recommend the following: - For Women: Lehenga/Lehenga Choli, Saree, or Salwar Kameez - For Men: Kurta Pajama, Kurta Sherwani, or simple Kurta If you are choosing the Indian attire route, here are some recommended places to shop: - One Minute Saree - https://oneminutesaree.com/ (women/kids clothing only, saree is wrapped for you and easy to wear) - Andaaz Fashion - https://www.andaazfashion.com/ - Amazon (search using keywords above, and check reviews, measurements, and return policies!) - Etsy

Question

What cuisine will be served?

Answer

For the Sangeet & Mehndi, we will have catered Mexican cuisine. For the Wedding Reception, we will have Indian cuisine. *Any kiddos attending, or those not interested in Indian cuisine (don't let Shekar find out), there will be pizza

Question

What if I want to change after the wedding ceremony and before the reception?

Answer

Feel free to text Allison or Shekar for access to the bridal / groom suite on-site. They can provide access for changing as there will be plenty of space! You could also drive back to the hotel and then comeback.
