
Nyah proposed on our 3rd anniversary while we were walking along the reflection pool between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. It was a huge surprise!

After Nyah proposed near the reflection pool, we sat on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, drank champagne, and called our family to share the news.

Just before DC closed down for COVID-19, we were able to snag some engagement photos at sunrise during peak Cherry Blossom season.

We chose to get married on Martin Luther King, Jr., weekend. As an interracial family, we hope to build a family and village that embraces King's idea of a Beloved Community.
