There are many Airbnb and Vrbo options if you are traveling as a group. If you go this route, we recommend staying as close to downtown Bar Harbor as possible, as it is a walking town where all of our events will take place. Note that most rentals do require a 4-night minimum (some longer) during popular months like August. Reach out to Allison if you'd like to be shared to a list of rental options!

Rental Car

Island Explorer Shuttle

Downtown Bar Harbor is very walkable, but we highly recommend checking out the rest of the island as well. We suggest renting a car for the weekend if you are flying to Maine, but there is also a Shuttle Bus system that provides free rides to various hot spots throughout the national park and beyond. Check out the available routes/schedules on the website, especially if you want to avoid parking at the popular Acadia spots (Jordan Pond, Beehive, etc).

A local airport not far from Bar Harbor (Approx. 15 minutes) servicing CapeAir and SilverAirways to and from Boston.

Bangor International Airport (BGR)

The closest major airport, about an hour drive to Bar Harbor. There are multiple rental car options on site as well.

Portland International Airport (PWM)

For those willing to do a longer drive (~3 hours), we recommend flying into Portland, which has a few more major airlines than Bangor. Portland is a great city worth checking out, and you can drive scenic Route 1 up the coastline to Bar Harbor. Reach out if you'd like any Portland recommendations - we have plenty!
