On a humid August afternoon in 2020, two people with suspiciously good taste in picnic snacks met in Logan Circle, Washington, DC. One of us (Jake) was overusing “cheers” after every semi-complete sentence. The other (Ally) was giving what could only be described as an unsolicited TED Talk on the merits of Trader Joe’s cheese selection. Somehow, this magical combo of nerves sparked something wonderful. By the time that first date ended, the conversation flowed like we’d known each other for years, and we both left Logan Circle that day knowing something was different. In the years that followed, our love took us on a journey that spanned both the country and the world. From Norfolk to San Diego and navigating time zones while Jake was stationed in Japan, the strength of our bond was tested early and often. Long-distance was hard, but we had something stronger – a foundation built on mutual respect, endless laughter, and a shared ability to find joy even in the chaos. Now, back in DC where it all began, we've built a home together. From the morning coffees to the late-night conversations, we cherish the everyday moments (…though the big, romantic gestures are nice too). Cheering each other on and leaning on each other when things are tough, we bring out the best in one another without even trying. This wedding marks a new chapter in our story. A chapter filled with shared dreams, spontaneous adventures, inevitable debates about what’s for dinner, and the comfort of knowing that no matter what comes our way, we’ll face it together. We are so grateful for the love we found that day in Logan Circle, and even more grateful for the future we now get to celebrate with you all.
