Cody and Allison met at a house party at Lindenwood University. The party was at Allison's house on campus with mutual friends. She had just finished her last performance for her undergrad when she came home to the party. She saw Cody in the kitchen, and the couple started talking. They instantly became friends! They would talk at Wild County (a country line dancing bar) where they shared their first dance. In May, Cody and Allison went on their first date to The Book of Mormon at The Fabulous Fox downtown. They ate Chipotle and walked around. The rest is history (because it already happened)! 1,118 days after their first date, they are tying the knot.

Cody asked Allison to marry him on March 22, 2020 in front of their new home. Cody told her that their families were going to work on the house that day and take pictures. Allison was completely caught off guard due to trying to navigate online teaching during her first year and purchasing a home with Cody. It may have been snowing and in the middle of a quarantine, but they were happy to be engaged!
