Suv is Chandra’s best man and it’s a role he’s essentially been playing all of Chandra’s life. While they are technically first cousins, Suv has always been the big brother Chandra never had. They grew up in the same neighborhood and attended the same high school—a fact that Suv would conveniently forget whilst walking through the halls—and Suv, being exactly 20 months older, was always the trailblazer. His additional 20 months of life experience made Suv a sort of a sagely figure in Chandra’s life. He’d dispel advice on everything from what neighborhoods were the coolest in New York City to the best ways to get a girl to like you. If you ask Suv, if it weren’t for him, this whole wedding probably would’ve even be happening.

Chandra met Adam and his then fiancé Jaimie (one of Alli’s bridesmaids) at an event called Wine Riot in New York City. This was Chandra’s first time meeting one of Alli’s “little” brothers and needless to say he was quite nervous. But after a few samples of cabernets, merlots and sauvignon blancs, the two guys ditched the girls and went off to explore the festival on their own. After getting to know each other that night, they realized that they had one important thing in common, and that was their love for Allison and wine.

Matt, Alli’s “littlest” brother was the last member of Alli’s nuclear family that Chandra met. After surviving meeting Adam, Chandra was pretty confident that meeting Matt would be a breeze. But Matt would never make things that easy. After learning about Chandra’s love for steak, Matt insisted that Chandra follow the Milewski family tradition of eating the entire prime rib, gristle and all. Chandra, not wanting to insult his new hosts, went along with it, and upon finishing, discovered a disgusted look on Allison’s face and Matt rolling on the floor nearly suffocating from laughing so hard. This would begin a relationship where Chandra always needs to stay on his toes, lest he ends up learning more about other “Milewski Traditions.”

Kur and Chandra met during freshman year of college and they have been friends ever since. They even survived a year living in a crummy apartment in New York in their early 20s. No matter where their lives took them, from New York to Chicago to San Francisco, they always managed to stay in regular touch and be among the first friends to visit the other in their new city. He also played Chandra’s wingman when he needed an excuse to visit Alli in Hartford the first time.

Kyle is Chandra’s oldest friend from childhood, with their friendship dating back over two decades. They spent their early days bonding over their love for science fiction and plotting world domination. Their relationship today is very much the same, but with a slightly bigger emphasis on the science fiction. Kyle is always there to go with Chandra to a movie Alli has no desire to watch and then spend hours endlessly dissecting plot holes and fan theories.
