Aberdeen International Airport

This is the closest airport to the castle and only a 15 minute drive to the hotel. You will need to arrange transport to the hotel, we recommend hiring a taxi!

Edinburgh International Airport

If you plan on coming over early we highly suggest spending at least one day in Edinburgh! The tram system into the city from the airport is convenient but be cautious, Edinburgh is a hilly city with cobblestone streets. If you have large or heavy luggage the tram might not be the best option to get into the city.

Train

LNER

If you choose to fly into Edinburgh instead of Aberdeen they have a train that connects the two cities (roughly 2 hours) and is a good option for anyone not wanting to rent a car. A word of caution, the train does not guarantee space for bags and you may end up having to put your bags at your feet if the train is full. Once you arrive in Aberdeen the suggested hotel is about a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk from the station.
