What is required to travel to Scotland?

Answer

A valid passport and approval for an ETA visa. The visa is super easy to apply for (there's an app you can download- search UK ETA in the app store) and takes less than 10 minutes. The visa is valid for 2 years so apply for this as soon as you know you are planning to attend. Once you are approved you don't need to do anything else.

Are there transportation options from the airport to the city center?

Answer

Yes, the best options are either by taxi or bus. Taxis are available for hire on the terminal forecourt or via the ComCab booking office. The journey takes about 15 minutes in normal traffic and the fare is usually around £16. First Aberdeen and Stagecoach Bluebird both run buses between the airport and city centre. The timetabled journey is about 30 minutes in normal traffic.

Should I rent a car?

Answer

A rental car isn't necessary as Aberdeen is a very walkable city and we will be providing shuttles to the welcome party and Wedding & Reception.

What is the weather like in Scotland in July?

July in Scotland is cool and mild, more like a perfect early fall day than summer heat—think 60s to low 70s°F, light breezes, and layers instead of tank tops. Evenings can be cool, especially outdoors, so bring something warm to throw on.
