Our first date spot, where we got engaged, and a date night go-to. Oakley's favorite is the shrimp tacos; Allison's is the steak tacos. We insist you get the queso and a margarita (or a Prickly Pear Mojito).
Carson's Food & Drink
Our favorite place to recommend for out-of-towners. Incredible upscale-Southern food (and portions) that never disappoints—great for brunch, lunch, or dinner. We insist you try the baked goat cheese appetizer (trust us), and Allison never goes without a bourbon cocktail. Be sure to make a reservation.
Ona
Our go-to bar—cozy, relaxed, and always a daily $5 cocktail special that can't be beat. We spent the end of our first date in the corner cubby.
Ashland - The Henry Clay Estate
The most lovely park in Lexington, and directly across the street from Allison's apartment. We've done a lot of picnicking here. Perfect place for a spring walk.
Manchester Coffee Co.
Allison's favorite coffee shop. Oakley tags along on rare occasion for a chai on a Sunday afternoon.
Great Bagel & Bakery
Simple breakfast, and great to-go! The best bagels in Lexington, and a post-run tradition for us. We get the American Sandwich on the Maple Bourbon Bagel.
Minton's
One of our favorite breakfast, brunch, or lunch spots. Quaint and delicious, with everything from reinvented classics, decadent french toast specials, or lighter fare like sweet potato hash. They also have great options for those with food allergies.
Sorella Gelateria
Best sweet treat in Lexington! New and innovative flavors made fresh every day—you never quite know what they'll have to offer.
Pearl's Pizza
Very cool and trendy place and Allison's favorite pizza in Lexington; innovative flavor combinations and traditional Italian-style pies.
Kentucky Native Café
An incredibly picturesque garden cafe for drinks (fun sodas included), salads, and lighter fare. A true Lexington gem.
