Wedding Party

Amy Morby

Bridesmaid

I met Amy through Moorea in 2015 when she had just moved to Seattle. We instantly bonded over shared interests in Rupaul's Drag Race, Lady Gaga, and everything Disney. As Pisces/introverts, we just get each other on an emotional level, reveling in our need for alone time while Instagram-Story-ing our pets and homemade cocktails. I'm so happy to have her joy and silliness, her positive presence, and her amazing hair/makeup lewks in my bridal party.

Britta Gess

Bridesmaid

Britta and I have been friends since 2007, when we studied abroad in Europe. Her level-headedness, honesty, and sense of humor made me think, "damn, this girl's a good egg." Through our shared love for travel, we've taken trips to San Francisco, New Orleans, and Paris together. She also happened to have the most epic bachelorette party (I would never dare to try to top it) in Palm Springs, featuring lots of rosé, pool floaties, and Beyonce on repeat. I'm so thankful to have her ability to make any event the most special.

Laura Zoeller

Bridesman

Laura and I solidified our friendship in Europe, where we went to the Viennese symphony, had dance parties in youth hostels, and spoke flawless French (well, she did; I did not at all). After returning from the trip we started a two-person book club (very exclusive), and while Laura would eventually go back and forth from Seattle to France—and meet and marry a French man during the process—we still remained close. Now Laura is a kick-ass French teacher and pregnant with her first bébé! Her laugh is probably my favorite laugh and her bon vivant-ness is contagious.

Moorea McDaniel

Bridesmaid

I knew of Moorea before we really became friends. She was our college's resident singer-songwriter and a talented artist as well. I thought she was super cool. We made it official my senior year of college when she started hanging out at my apartment via my room-mate. We were attracted to each other's inherent goofiness, which blossomed into deep conversations about our dreams for the future. Classic Pisces-Cancer relationship. Deep down we get each other, support each other, and love each other. In short, it was meant to be.

Stacey O'Farrell

Bridesmaid

Stacey and I were in ministry together at SPU during our sophomore year. We bonded over The Office and Saturday Night Live, and fancied ourselves the Laverne & Shirley/Samwise & Frodo of our college. As roommates we helped each other through breakups and boring jobs, and we still miss borrowing each other's clothes. She is still one of the best cooks I know, has an amazing husband, and I basically want to kidnap her daughter because she's too much for my heart.

Tita Aldana de Mendieta

Bridesmaid

It all started when my family moved in across the street from Tita's family. Along with our respective little brothers, we almost instantly became neighborhood best friends, riding bikes like fiends, choreographing lip syncs, and playing at the beach. We grew up together and she is more like a sister to me (sisterly annoyances and all!). Tita is a children-whisperer (AKA she studied Child Development), but when she's not working with kids you can find her adventuring with her adorable husband Jorge (who she met while living in Argentina).

Steve Porwoll

Best Man

Steve is my oldest brother which I guess would make him my first friend. As kids, Steve and I loved taunting each other over the Vikings and Packers rivalry that mirrored our own. Steve is a high school teacher, a husband to his high school sweetheart Jessi, and potentially the best dad on the planet to the funniest, smartest little gal on earth, Evie (who just happens to be our flower girl). I'm so happy to call on Steve as one of my Best Men.

Matt Porwoll

Best Man

Matt is the youngest brother of the Porwoll boys, and he rounds us out perfectly. As youngsters, Matt and I would live at the golf course for long stretches of time. As adults, we stay close by making sure we take at least one ski trip per year. Matt is an aspiring mountain biker, coffee aficionado, and a loving husband to my sister-in-law Katie. The pair currently live it up in the Twin Cities with their dog Boone. I'm so happy and so proud to have Matt as one of my Best Men.

Christian Schmitz

Groomsman

Christian and I were freshman (and sophomore, and junior) college roommates. As freshmen at St. Olaf, we instantly bonded over a shared love of HBO's Band of Brothers and the timeless classic video game, Halo 2. My favorite memories with Christian are all the camping and fishing trips we've taken together over the years. Christian works as a loan underwriter by day, but by night he is studying to become a brewmaster and open his own brewery with his family. He's an extra champ because a week after our wedding, he himself is getting married in Minnesota! So be sure to congratulate him when you see him.

Charley Stuckey

Groomsman

Charley became my good friend in college, when we lived on the same freshman floor and many many folks mistook us for brothers. Later on, we became roommates living in downtown Northfield, above the Rare-Pair (coolest place I've yet lived). Charley's sense of humor and compassion (and Packer fandom) made him a lifelong friend of mine. He's an actuary with one year of marriage under his belt to Kelsey (also an actuary), and bonus: he's got the voice of an angel (for proof, come to our wedding!).

Trent Golberg

Groomsman

Trenton and I have been friends since middle school. Back then, we were mainly interested in video games, paintball and Mountain Dew. We stayed close after college, and when I decided to transfer out to Seattle in 2015, I called up my buddy Trent to see if he was up for an adventure (Trent has the good fortune of a remote job, which made it easy to pack up and go). Seattle suits our adventurous Trent, who is now pretty much always hiking a crazy wilderness trail or climbing a mountain. Trent's wacky antics and famous hearty laugh are the stuff of legend and I'm thrilled he's a part of the party.

Max Fraley

Groomsman

Max is my soon to be brother-in-law. I couldn't find any pictures of just us, which is sad. Guess we'll have to make some! When I first met Max, I thought, what a strapping, handsome, and hilarious young man. When Allie and Max are together at family get-togethers, they are REALLY on a whole other wavelength. Someday, I hope to be able to dial in even just a little bit. I'm excited to call him my BROTHER and hope he will someday let me accompany him to a metal show.

For all the days along the way
