FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

It will be a ballroom-style wedding, so if you’re wondering whether to go a little extra… go for it! Think cocktail or formal attire- suits, ties, cocktail dresses, or floor-length gowns. Sunday best is also fine- we want you to be comfortable and have a great night!

Question

Can I take photos or videos during the ceremony or reception?

Answer

We’re having an unplugged ceremony – that means no phones, cameras, or iPads. Just bring your smiles and love! We’ve got amazing photographers and videographers to capture every moment (without extra phones popping into the aisle.) At the reception, please help us capture memories with your table and family! We’ll have QR codes for you to scan at your table so you can upload your favorite shots from the whole wedding weekend to a shared album for us to enjoy and download later. We just ask that you stay present and soak up the magic- no need to film toasts, first dances, or cake cuttings. Our pros have it covered so you can stay present (and our photographers can capture your faces and not your phones!) Thanks for helping us keep the day beautiful, connected, and full of love.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one or kids?

Answer

We love your people, but to stay on budget, our guest list is by invitation only. We appreciate you understanding that we’re unable to accommodate additional guests or children other than those named on your invitation.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Everything will take place indoors, so no need to worry about the weather. Just bring your dancing shoes!

Question

Will there be food and drinks?

Answer

Absolutely! You can look forward to a delicious dinner, drinks, and dancing the night away with us.

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

Absolutely- cheers to that! 🍻 We’ve got a fully stocked, prepaid bar, so sip, savor, and celebrate with us! Whether you're toasting with a cocktail, clinking beers, or raising a glass of bubbly, drink up and enjoy- it’s on us!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with loved ones coming from near and far! The ceremony and reception will be held just a few miles from Lake Lanier, so if you're traveling with a group or looking to turn the weekend into a getaway, consider renting a home on the lake! We have also secured a block of rooms at the Courtyard Atlanta in Suwanee that is 5 miles and 15 minutes from Ashton Gardens. Check the travel page for more details!

Question

I got the Save The Date. Do I need to RSVP now?

Answer

Nope! The Save the Date is simply to give you plenty of notice (we’re sending them about 8 months early so you can plan ahead). The formal invitations- with all the details and RSVP instructions- will arrive about 8 weeks before the wedding. You don’t need to RSVP until you receive that invitation.

Question

What if my plans change and I can’t attend after all?

Answer

We totally understand that life happens and plans can change. If something comes up and you’re no longer able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible by updating your RSVP. We’re finalizing details with our vendors. Since payment is based on guest count, every update helps us plan accordingly.

Question

When should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Plan to arrive 30-45 minutes before the ceremony begins to allow time to be seated and ready to go before the ceremony begins at 6pm.
