What is the dress code?

Answer

Formal attire. Long dresses, suits, florals, and bright colors are encouraged. Note that the ground of our outdoor venue has gravel and stone, so plan your footwear accordingly. Check out this article here for more information: https://www.theknot.com/content/formal-wedding-attire Please do not wear white or casual clothing.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception dinner will be outdoors. Dancing will take place in the Great Hall. In the event of rain, all activities will be inside the Great Hall and in covered outdoor areas. Note that the average temperature in Austin around late April is a high of 80°F and a low of 62°F. Allergies are very common in Austin, so we recommend packing some antihistamines just in case!

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

Answer

There is plenty of parking at our venue, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. They have a big parking lot and overflow parking on the street just outside the venue. If you plan to drink, we ask that you either have a designated driver or that you take a Lyft/Uber to and from the wedding.

Where should I bring/send a wedding gift?

Am I allowed to take photos at the wedding?

Answer

We request that everyone keep their phones and cameras silent and out of sight to stay “unplugged” and respect the intimate space during the ceremony. Photography is encouraged any time after the ceremony ends.

Are children invited?

Answer

Only children who are explicitly named on the invitation are invited. When you type your name on the RSVP page, you’ll find all the people included in your party.
